1.
Well spotted. Straplock screw now sorted. What I mean by pre CBS is the feel and the shallow profile. Feels like an old friend, broke in and the profile feels really easy to play. Unlike say a 78 Fender where the neck's more chunky and the lacquered finish can sometimes feel sticky. US laklands seem to nail that old feel, their instruments feel as if the neck has been broken in already before they ship out of the factory. Alleva Coppllo basses come close but not quite as good IMHO!
My pleasure, I have a keen eye for these things and I really don't know a reason for spotting it with all this eye candy- I ought to be ashamed really. That neck sounds to die for and especially for a 5'er!!! Normally I don't mind a chunky neck on a 4 string, with having big hands but on a 5: with the wide neck, you sometimes need something thin and fast to play on- so this sounds a dream to play. If I win the lottery tomorrow, I'll drop you a message, but otherwise I wish you all the best with the sale. BSB
2. How does a 5 string bass neck feel like a "pre-CBS" and I believe your strap-lock has the wrong screw inside of it. Nevertheless, this is a really beautiful maple bass!
3.
I've got an identical amp here - I was told mine is from 81 if that helps.. It's very loud and really rocks. I sometimes toy with selling it and buying something smaller but if I buy another amp I think I'll still keep this one. Very cool amps.
Amen brother, I'm really surprised it's not gone yet. An amp built to last, already 30 years old and I guarantee, in this condition, many more happy years out of it!!
4.
Hi. This is pre-83 'cause the head has vertical inputs. The cab has four 12" speakers which were also available until 1983. So I'd say this is 1981-1983 half stack. The cab model is 1935B and the head model 1992 as someone already said. Both part of the JCM 800 Bass series.
2 tweets and a picture to Marshall and no reply yet, practically a useless and Ad based Twitter account -_- ..... Anyway, I'll edit the post with the estimated years but thank you very much for your help, much appreciated.
5.
Hi mate, that will be a fair bit older than you think. 1992 is the model number rather than the age. It looks like an 83-85. The letter on the serial number stamped on the back will tell you the exact year. Also the speakers are 12'' so it is a 4x12 cab. Lovely things they are as well. Best of luck with the sale.
I did think it was older but seeing the model number, I assumed I was wrong and the number was intact the year, Just tweeted a pic to Marshall Amps for more info and actual facts on the amp. Many thanks

8. BUMP! FREE tea/coffee and biscuits upon trial or sale. WILL trade for amps, basses, parts and fx pedals up to the value of the guitar.
9. Interested, any pics to prove they're Seymour Duncan Custom Shop?
10. Does it include the original parts too?
11. Had one of these myself years back, actually when I started playing. Cracking amps: really underrated for power, tone and function as a rehearsal amp, small gig amp or a stage monitor. The ultrabass (which can be triggered by the foot switch?) is a good feature when you need to pump up your bass, albeit for a specific bass you've plugged in, song or bass riff. The actual EQ is justified without the UB, don't worry! If I had the cash and space to store it, I'd have one back in a heartbeat. GLWTS!
12. Got anything to prove the body is actually a Geddy Lee?
13. Vouching for Mr Shambo and that he's a great person to deal with. GLWTS pal
14.
Ha ha, No one "needs" a 7 string, you just ought to buy it because it's fun and a seriously good price for a seriously cool bass.
I find little use with a five string, 7 strings is way too many and I'd struggle to find string for it. Beautiful bass though
15. If I had the need for a 7 string, I'd be all over this.
16.
How about some photos of it?
Haha quick to it
17. I'm just stating if it's split up. I'm having dibs on those chocolate fingers!!! hahaha Seriously though, would you be up for trades? I got a killer Marshall 1/2 bass stack for sale, I'll be happy to deliver/collect and leave the difference. Let me know by PM please. GLWTS Grae
18. Hooray! You did it haha. Ahh mahn, it sucks big style as I paid for it with my grandads inheritance. I was on anti depressants and had counselling to cope with it. I live in hope it'll come back to me someday it was the one with the Warwick style bridge, never see them any more. Yours is a corker of a bass, I love the burst and the new style bridge. Someone is going to love this pal
19. Ps: I'd have this myself if it wasn't for mine being stolen
20. On the bottom of the main message, there'll be "Report Delete Edit" in greyed out text next to "MultiQuote" and "Quote" Click edit, it will open up the full page editor. Change the title and don't forget to save
