  1. Think it would be easier to salvage the parts for a new body. Put the old one to rest on a little pyre in the back garden πŸ˜‚
  2. Like a 1950's spinster in the lonely hearts club of the music world πŸ˜‚
  3. I've missed this! Only seen the USA ones recent for Β£1500. This is tempting!
  4. Owned many G&L instruments over the years, from guitars and basses. Would have always preferred a G&L over a Fender but that's because I think you get more bang for your buck and quality is such a difference between them both. Electronics bothered me, not an active bass player and the newer basses support the 18v EQs, so double the trouble for me. If they made passive basses on the tribute series and without breaking the bank or being a Fender J/P imitation, I'd definitely come back to give them a go
  5. I've got no idea, the logo I'd have thought (unless from the old pianos or orchestral) would have remained the same 3 tuning forks or Yamaha font, from instruments since the 60's to now Here's a little page I found on the guitars anyway https://www.acousticguitarforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=250863
  6. That's awesome dude and digging that sound! 🀘🏻😁
  7. According to the web, even Β£599 is in the price drop from Β£845 or something. Β£299 is a good price but I'd perhaps enquire why it's so cheap, by half of what the other sale prices are πŸ€” I'd imagine it's a typo and if you purchased it, they wouldn't honour it and only refund it to adjust the price correctly.
  8. Damn, that's awkward. There's no TE representative in the UK either for repairs as its now through Peavey, as I had to chase around last year myself for a repair job... My best advice would be to take it to your best local guitar/amp repair place and perhaps spend a little money just to see if they know what's wrong with it and fix anything that needs fixing. It's a tough one but it is why I branched over to Ashdown as they're still UK based if I needed to give them a shout.
  9. A few pedals up for sale and priced including UK postage. All pedals condition: "As New" have seen little to no use, no signs of wear and taken good care of. 10. I was considering these a few years back, between the Mark Bass and Bartolini circuits but couldn't make my mind up and active circuits scare me nowπŸ˜‚ Would love to hear more of a review on if sometime, perhaps a video ✌🏻
  11. This is a BB the same way the BBNE2 is considered one. The body shape isn't the usual.
  12. Sorry bro, I'd like a T-Bird again myself but if this doesn't dissuade you, then I don't know what will
  13. You'd also convince them to stick musicman pickguards on BB basses πŸ˜‚ don't quit your day job just yet.
  14. Hum tends to come with active basses, especially those who play on stage with speakers, lights, radios, monitors and even stage fans. Do you still get hum when it's in passive?
  15. @Al Krow I tend to review things the same. I guess in a lot of ways both basses are very similar in black and white, when looking at specs but the subtleties in difference seem like they make all the difference in sound and feel I love my BB1025 but have to admit that the thickness of the new necks is definitely a lot more comfortable, as well as the weight loss/reduced size bodies. They feel a lot more comfortable to play sat down or on a strap. Sound wise, I can't put my finger on why they sound ever so different but I wouldn't say it's dramatically different from my end.
  16. Seen the Erik ArkΓΆ's review but waiting to see/hear more before I spend out, perhaps buy a previous model
  17. Well if Nigel had got one similar, everyone's argument against this bass is irrelevant πŸ˜πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
  18. Looks sweet! A good bass for the price, hope you're enjoying it
  19. Why? It's comical, very smart thinking I must say. Would I play one in a band? Nah but it stick it on the wall as a conversation piece almost family and friends haha.
  20. Digging this review. Do you think the sound is perhaps from the tailored pickups for the bass, the mitre neck joint or perhaps a combination of a few things? Both fantastic basses
  21. 1. It can definitely be done, it'll cost a few quid but definitely worthwhile if you just wish to switch between active and passive, let alone when batteries die. 2. How long is a piece of string? I tend to find with an 18V (2x9V) preamp tend to last a little longer than a 9V, but doesn't mean twice as long but on the other hand, the sound from such a preamp sounds a lot cleaner and rounded. 3. From my experience, if you're playing for long enough, you tend to know, sometimes the volume drops or the bass EQ dissolves and gets to a weak crackling sound, if any sound at all but being batteries, temperature can affect the battery life as much as brand and quality of battery.(reflecting back to #2) I do love an active bass but too many let downs for me and my anxiety is always hightened in case I've got to spend 5 minutes switching bass or a 9V battery on stage... It's embarrassing. So I've always stuck to a passive bass for safety and a sound I can always rely on.
  22. What a beauty, would love to hear how this sounds! 😁
  23. The kinda pink I'd expect the Flea bass to be. I like it, have a bump from me 😁
