  1. Tbf, I've accumulated a few BBs lately, only being yours @AndyTravis, a few Attitudes as well.... More Yamaha basses than the man of Yamaha basses himself on here 😉
  2. No worries bud, definitely with you with the Yamaha though, fantastic instruments and for a good price these days. Any model or range ✌🏻
  3. Not for £150, not unless you're in the second hand market. I'd say for buying new, <£150 will always be <£150 but £300 is your new £500 bass, £500 is your new £800 and so on..... A BB435 for about £150? That's incredibly lucky seeing they go for about double that easily second hand but hell of a good bass anyway. Something that should last you some years.
  4. Having been in a few cover bands myself, the BB734A/5A would be an incredible bass to use and utilise for me. A Precision and Jazz configuration does a lot more than you think and an active EQ just opens up so many sound options (I'd just be sure to have a spare battery ready for a 2 hour set.) I found the necks to be really smooth too with the lacquer finish and unlike gloss were your hand sticks to it.... you've got something that will need the occasional wipe to keep maintained but keeps the playability up. A very sensible little bass and nothing I'd have remotely bad to say or complain about.
  5. Always good checking out the Vids. So is this your own model or something hired for the video? Would it be something you'd practice at home/with the band, with? Take to gigs? Record with? I'd be interested on your thoughts
  6. Having read this forum, there is someone on here that is uncredited for the amount of time someone who's professionally worked around Yamaha's day in, day out (guitars, basses, drums, keys and audio) selling them for a living and if not someone to be surrounded them at work, he's someone who's working with them in another sense: he's out practicing, performing and recording with them. Probably the BB collection has dwindled lately since I brought him over to the Attitude way of life but this is someone who still knows his beans when it comes to it, someone I still speak to, to gather information on my own gear or inbound purchases 😂 If anyone is to know a thing or two about Yamaha basses, @AndyTravis is the one to ask. Just some of his collection and at one period of time. I'm sure if there was a picture of the entire collection, there wouldn't be enough sofas to stick them on 😂😂😂
  7. Ah, didn't realise it was actually you 😂 I think for a lot t of members on here, they already own great basses that excel past this bass, nothing of a snobby pov, just seems to be a given to 99% of the community. We have spoke over this before though 😅 My mind hasn't changed and still a good shout for inspiring the next gen of musicians and bassists ✌🏻
  8. Don't be knobs.... He might have missed the announcement, like anything that pops up like "podcasts" we all click off things we're not interested in, adverts included. At least he didn't miss the fact they're still here a week on and still nothing done about them.... Correct me if I'm wrong but BassChat officials did say it wasn't going to take long to "get ducks lined up" and have it sorted. So what's the hold up? 🤷🏼‍♂️
  9. Squire Vintage Modern Jazz Bass, https://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/squire-vintage-modern-jazz-bass/1336524200?utm_source=com.google.android.apps.docs&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=socialbuttons&utm_content=app_android Price: £ 150 😁👍🏻
  10. Think I'd rather save up and get something a little better. It doesn't sound very cheap/budget
  11. His Warwick was a cool shape but think even I'd go for the TM4 haha. Sounds good 😁✌🏻
  12. Genuinely..... Hold it out and see what you can find on the marketplace. You could find a decent Squier that will serve you better (HB to me were always "ornamental" items due to poor QC) or perhaps even find a Bass Collection Jive or Power bass.
  13. @Cuzzie's favourite 3 pickup bass 😜😂
  14. That's always good news! Got to get that ball rolling and start making those millions.... Just don't be like the rest of us and blow it all on the marketplace here 😂🙇🏼‍♂️ Definitely looking forward to hearing more from you Mark and feel free to explore the forum, plenty to join in on and get your hands dirty with. Big Smoke
  15. Hi Lewis, You've jumped in on the wrong part of the forum to post that on. You'll be better creating a topic on this page here and asking there. https://www.basschat.co.uk/forum/82-other-instruments/ Apologies Orphius, still hope you're enjoying the forum 😁👍🏻
  16. Hey Lloyd, welcome to BassChat. Enjoyed reading your introduction and I'm sure you'll enjoy it here. I'm sure you'll be able to find a jazz bass in the marketplace cheap enough but still quality enough to not need another anytime soon.... Keeping the band and the old wallet strings at ease 😉👌🏻 Hope to see you around Big Smoke
  17. Hi mark, welcome to BassChat. Some cool gear and pleased to hear you're still playing and in a band, we hope you enjoy playing as much as rocking, we hope to hear more from you and your ventures. Big Smoke
  18. Still rather not see any when I'm paying for the privilege for being a member of a forum and not receiving any benefits really. Sure, "once ducks are in a line" I won't be bombarded with ads in my face but generally adverts aren't helpful, especially when you don't want to buy anything 😂
  19. So as someone who pays for membership for selling items on this forum, how can we setup a way to remove adverts as part of our subscription too? 😉👌🏻
  20. With the shotgun on standby? 😂 Jk but at least they're not Warwick
  21. Ps: Hofner violin basses suck! At least he played Rickenbackers. 😂👌🏻
  22. Is that the guy from Wings? 😂 Funny guy, met him briefly (and his entourage), probably because there was an event on at LIPA, which is a rarity as he's very rarely in the 'pool or the public eye. But didn't mention the other band he's in or his bass playing, mostly as I'm not a fan tbh. Regarding his music, he's a great song writer, undoubtedly. I'm not a fan of the bass lines though, nothing that really challenges my technique or gives me any enjoyment playing. If anything, I consider him more a vocalist, pianist and guitarist who writes accompanying bass parts, the same way he would for drums. Basic. Overall verdict, overrated? No, I'd say he does his job very well and a very cool guy, I hate him for it 😂
  23. If only you had a beast of an iPhone, we'd have a few things in the bag 😜 So what's the functions on the electronic board then? Also, how much did this cost overall? I appreciate it's a custom job but food for thought for when I win the lotto 😂
  24. Is that an open invitation? 😉 Think I need a holiday to check out that new surf green beasty. In relation to the topic, I love these amps, The RM heads and combos are fantastic little amps with a whole lot of versatility, a blank canvas for you to style how you like without being limited to a specific 'sound'. The cabs are nice and light too, at least to some of the gear I've lugged around in the past. Like the above, a blank canvas for you to stick any amp through and have a great cab that'll sound great and serve you well. For me personally, I like the ABM line, solid cabs that are built to last year's of touring (slightly heavier though!) and cones I'd say rival Celestion speakers. I'm a fan of the vintage sound with my CTM100 and ABM 4X10, I'm thinking of getting a 1x15 ABM soon enough to complete my rig.
