Decal or No

If you want a Fender decal get one. For the moment the only thing that matters is that you're happy with the bass. If you ever sell it just sand off the decal so some noob doesn't get sold a pup somewhere down the line.
2. Currently running through a Hartke LH 500 but I just pulled the trigger on a Trace Elliot 4x10 combo. Either way, the basses will sound incredible.
3. Fantastic basses. I've a couple of Euros, lx and ReBop. Each one is superb. Seriously considering a 6string.....
4. Outside of band rehearsals I usually do about an hour per day. I try to do at least 15 minutes with the metronome.
5. Devi Ever- Ruiner for a simple unit or a Mangler unit for something truely wierd.
6. Aye, they're great wee things. Love playing them at sessions. Theres so much you can do with them. I'm surprised it took so long for them to become popular with acoustic groups and at jam nights. Myself and the singer threw one together for €14. For the snare we just strung beer bottletops along an old guitar string and tightened it until it sounded good. I find that handball gloves (alley handball, not that olympic malarkey) helps keep the hands in relatively good nick.
7. Its a tricky one really. If the musician or band is ok with it then I don't have a problem with anyone downloading tunes. However, once an album is purchased why should anyone have to pay for another copy in a store or online. Eg. Im on my 4th copy of Appetite for Destruction having first purchased it on cassette. I recently downloaded it from itunes as my cd copy was too badly scratched to upload to my laptop. I've had similar experiences with a good few cds but still have to pay for the albums. There wasn't any extra songs on any of them so essentially I recently repurchasing the recording. To me that's wrong and is an example of how the various distributors are exploiting the consumer and the artist. That point is rarely brought up though.
8. A good bassist is one who can play in the correct key. How many or few notes he or she plays is determined by the style or genre of the music and is subject to the bassists interpretation of that style. Therefore the totality of the bassline will be appealing to some and not others. Ergo judgements made on personal tastes and preferences are irrelevant.
9.
Two blowtorches?! Awesome! Underrated pedal, loved mine when I had it.
Aye, seriously under rated piece of kit. I think the 18v thing puts people off. Its probably the most versatile distortion unit I've used.
10. Of the two you mentioned I prefer the MXR. The Corona was a bit brittle to my ears. If you fancy something cheap and versatile thats also reliable then IMO the Digitech Bass Multi Chorus is worth a look. It can go from very subtle to OTT.
11. Took a quick snap of the main board at rehearsal today. I reckon I'll be adding an octave pedal after the chorus unit before long. D'ya think I've a bit of a fuzz problem?
12.
If you decide to do that I can send you a socket for free - Years ago I ordered a 100 pack from China but they messed up and sent me 1000 instead
Sorry lad. Missed that post. Cheers for the offer but I should be able to source one from the spares box. Cheers again.
13. Sounds a bit Glam to me but TBH one of the bands I'm in is called Light Hardware Supplies so dont take my word on it.
14. Sound. Might look into that. The guitarist is fairly handy with a soldering iron.
15. Sound as pound lad. Cheers.
16. Its the DCB-10. Normally I'd check the manual but god only knows where it is. Edit. A quick google says you're correct. Edit 2. Perhaps I'm confusing the brick and the pedal. AFAIR EHX pedals use adaptors which require opposite polarity to what the standard PSU's supply. Told ya I was confussticated..............
17. I've decided to stick one of the Russian Muffs onto the main pedalboard. However, I use a Dunlop brick to power the board. Great piece of kit but it only powers pedals which have center (+) sockets. The question is, if I attach a battery clip converter to the muff will I also need to attach a polarity adapter between the clip adaptor and the DC Brick, or, are clip converters available which allow me to connect straight to the power supply unit? Confussticated yet? I am!
18. Tempted to take one of the Bass Blowtorchs off the board and replace it with one of these........
19. First I heard of it TBH but I'm gonna give it a try. The Spectors usually have bags of sustain so it'll be interesting to hear the result.
20. Strap (detached), spare strings (pre-cut to suit whatever bass I'm using), two spare 9v batteries, wire cutters, a set of allen keys and a spare pair of socks.
21. For me its probably Dookie by Green Day and Appetite by GnR. Our guitard reckons I play like LoMenzo but I dont hear it TBH.
22. Almost got another dose of P GAS. Thankfully this didn't have a maple fingerboard otherwise............. http://www.fenderjapan.co.jp/pb62.html
23. Hydrive 112 should do the job in most small to medium sized situations.
24.
You don't see an actor kicking off because they can't us the same accent for each part they play.
Unless its Colin Farrell who can only do one accent............. Seriously though, you've raised an interesting point, What if bassist X auditioned for a gig with band Y who are highly regarded within a certain genre, say Brit Pop. After the auditioning process the band realises that bassist X is the most suitable in terms of technique and attitude and offer him the slot. However bassist X is endorsed by company Z and is obliged contractually to play their basses. The basses company Z produce are not what would normally be used by a Brit Pop band and Band Y tell Bassist X that he must use another company's product. Obviously Bassist X would have to explain to Band Y that he cannot use another bass. Does band Y allow bassist X to use the bass from company Z therefore employing the most suitable person for the job (musically at least) or do they move on to another bassist who is willing to play whatever is required aesthetically but is a weaker musician technically? Getting a bit off topic; IMO the only reason why image has such a strong influence on musical genres is because people are too willing to go along with the trends and therefore become just another indie bassist with a stingray or a punk bassist with a precision or a prog bassist with boutique 6 string or whatever cliche you may care to add.
