Firstly best of luck with the necks and all that sail with them!!! As title, this about your experiences in China as a teacher yes? I want to know the extent that this tech has permiated the worlds biggest economy and population, esp the younger ones. Just tonight I filled out yet another western industry questionaire and thought-this is meaningless unless I have a metric that represents china and they see this.......... Hopefully you might share some insights into the stuff we won't be aware of . I did read couple of short pieces by you (humerous) about china and its reach... I believe all musicians both from the past and the future will have to make their peace with this tech as it will utimatly change all our perceptions of MUSIC.

Remastered doesn't mean its any better
Magister Ludi replied to Jean-Luc Pickguard's topic in General Discussion
^This The other reason for change is greed....ie 'Apple" they appear to have converted their entire back catalogue, not once but multiple times in some cases-and what garbage comes back ? An American view of all music created by back street studios wholesale with no no finesse at all- just mass producing the music for apples viewpoint. And of course that new noise is a bigger profit for them times how much ? I hate remastered stuff in the main-because having grownup with the music why should I have to suffer the dirges produced for the different tech offered by a company that is just another US trillion dollar company wanting more shareholder bucks. Rant over........ -
Now if this was me (and presuming I was living in Belgium) I would decide first whether to go old school upright or any million combos of electronica. So, its an old school classy upright to start-and the place to get one is ....... an auction room! seriously they are the same europewide with the dearth of joannas you will easily find something that looks sturdy and has tone. The make is irrelevant at this stage-you will need the services of a pro tuner-he/she will advise more. and quite obviously, being Belgium, you will need a bar and some form of storeage for cask beer !!! The wife singist is a bonus-as is some belgian chocolate to give to guests.... Sorted. Magister Ludi
