Its a great looking bass, new body shape sounds wierd with the flat back and no cutout. But then its a signature model at the end of the day. Exactly what he wanted so probably not right for most other people.
I'm looking for a luthier in Kent. I contacted one listed through the BC section, but haven't heard back. Basically, I want a set-up on my Ric 4003. It's currently as it left the factory....good, but I've had better. This is why I thought I'd ask the experts here - as you know, a Ric with dual truss rods, and a nightmare bridge must be handled by someone who knows what they're doing! I'm in Tenterden, Kent. Love to hear any advice on this, and any success stories of who to trust, and where!
Sims Custom Shop in Ashford are bonkers. Mani at Sound and image in Chatham is brilliant for set ups. Bit further afield and possibley the best set up you will ever have is Andy Gibson near Denmark street London. He is absolutely mind blowing. He is based at Chris Bryants 126 Charing Cross Rd Leicester Square London WC2H 0LA 020 7836 4723 If you fancy the train ride you will NOT regret it!

Loan from the Arts Council for instruments and gear
throwoff replied to Mecklenburg's topic in General Discussion
I bought my Markbass on it and my brother bought a Fender Hot rod on it middle of last year no problems. They were even super nice when I missed a payment due to my wages going in too late. Got one call off a lovely woman who said 'theres no charges or anything can you pay this months and next months on the next due date,' to which I said 'of course' and that was that. -
Interesting looking jazz, and cheap
The neck/body joint is flawed too - take a look at the pics from the original auction listing.
Good spot! That gives home builders a bad name -
There was also a SN Vampyre. I suppose theoretically could be a Custom Shop SN streamer but its definatly not a production model (discontinued or current)
I wasted loads of money on a "custom" bass which is actually a POS and i could have got a musicman with the money i wasted on it. Pics to follow.
Intregued!

Glued in neck? Im assuming that means neck through, there are some set neck Warwick's but not that many (and im fairly certain no streamers). As for value we would need more info, model name, year etc. There are some amazing special editions from over the years which are valued quite highly and at the same time some short lived models which aren't
I've got a '62 P and i'm never selling it. The Capri Orange '62 is extremely rare and i was going to plump for it when i bought mine, but chickened out and got VWH instead.
Should of taken the risk! I only ever seen the colour in photos it looks amazing!
All basses should have three single coils. Except precisions, for indeed they are cool.
Mental images of me, a Stingray, 3 single coild and a router are starting to boil. This could mean trouble.
+1 I'm using Warwick patch cables, basically Neutrik copies. Very good quality and silly cheap
Yeh they are great for the money and tonewise easilly cut it, admitedly im using wireless so im losing something anyway. -
Cool story, Im willing to belive GE's explanation of the wife beating story as well. Sounds like a lot of people takien advantage of the guy, his ex wife included. Nice story, cool to know theres a few good people left.

I think thats the smart option, not the 75' particularly but something bit rare. I have a CIJ 57 reissue P which I love to bits. My list is thus far - Jazz 5 Jaguar bass 62' P in orange (Always wanted an orange bass!) Or the 75' of course
But do you fit in your Fiat Punto with it!?
I do! Just! I can fit - 2 people, 8x10, my rack case, bass, pedal board, guitar, Fender hot rod combo, guitarist pedal board and bag in without too much trouble. First time was a pain in the arse but know I know the pattern its fairly simple

Brass players are a funny old breed. We had one in my ska band a trumpet player. He had never heard Ska till he joined us all Jazz and stuff. Which kinda worked for the best, I think because he was learning a brand new style he practiced a lot and it came together. I dont know what to suggest, make childish jokes about valve lubricant and playing with their horn, im not sure it will help but it will make you feel better.

All my cabling is Warwick RockCable. It's never done me wrong and the patches are great quality. Plus for the price its easy to buy a few spares. -

The other option is a lefty Jaguar bass. Which is also rare as rocking horse excrement.

Long story short, I have a friend who lives in Japan and is coming back to UK for a fortnight in a few months. He knows of a guitar store that can get any left handed CIJ Fenders and has offered to bring one into UK for me providing I pay any relevant fee's etc. That 5 is what I am GASing for at the moment, I have never even seen one in UK before.. Big risk but I figure I can sell it on almost instantly if we dont get on. Input needed before my bank manager has another reason to work late.

Pretty standard! TU2, GEB7, CEB3, Bass Blogger. Warwick board (powered pedal boards are my recent new favourite thing!) All it needs is a Nano Balls
