1. She is a cutie, Gotta admit when OLP were still around I told every right handed player I knew to try one and one or two bought one. One of the holy grails as far as im concerned <---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------> This Much Bass <----> For this much money!
2. Im seriously tempted to speak to a luthier about getting a new board on it, Or perhaps wait another year till it gets cheaper and attempt the job myself, I know its a big job but I think with some of my friends experience I could get through it!
3.
If your guitarist has a little 1x12 combo you might look at how the mountain of bass looks on the stage.
Both guitarists do, this is one of the deciding factors!
4. I think I have opened a can of worms! And leave my LM250 alone, just because she is soon to be replaced by 1000W of something doesn't make her less special!
5. I just withdrew my sales thread for the MB as I came into some money, Hopefully someone can tempt me with something for a trade and get rid of the itch
(LM250 is a piddler after all)
Not going to be a 250 for long! Got a head in mind just need to speak to the right man about the particular dog
6. Ok once more financially im a bit stuck, (im literally up and down like God knows what last couple months!) This has to go! It has been used twice, in my lounge for a total of about 15 minutes. It is brand spanking new. Its pretty much half price from a new one. I am willing to ship it providing all shipping costs are covered by your side (I will allow you to find a good quote to go with) However pickup from Kent is best. Pickup can be arranged in Essex as well (Lakeside, Dagenham areas both ideal) and I can get it taken somewhere on the South M25 if needed (Clackett Lane etc etc.) £650 cash its yours. The Head is available also MarkBass LM250 again brand new, again hardley used (used more than cab perhaps 20 hours?) Rackcase is a Thomann own 3U, not the best but about 70 quid brand new and tough enough. Comes with Markbass Rack Ears Fitted (NOTE- AKG wireless NOT for sale!) Head with RackCase - £250 Head and Cab and Rackcase - £800 Someone take a bargin and help me out!
7. I would NEVER play a SC myself, just wouldnt work. But I think almost everyone I have ever seen has been pretty.

9. Its dangerously stupid GAS this. Damn being left handed that what I blame it on, If I was a righty I could easily find a bass to kill a grand on but in my shoes its a cab or a long waiting list
10. OK Here is the problem, im a fairly quiet person but as soon as you put me on stage even if its just the dog and duck to 5 regulars and a dog I become ego man. I want to sound good and look better. I love people seeing my rig and being in awe of the hard hours I have put in to spend a stupid sum of money! I have a Markbass CL108 atm and despite trying to sell it something deep and dark within me has found another for sale for an amazing price and wants to take the plunge. Then buy another LM250 H to run it. Put my bass through a splitter and on one side run a miniscule delay. Then for a 3 piece im planning distort one as well. I will literally be using this is smallish venues aiming to move onto medium size places. Moving it and transporting it all will be a supreme pain in the ass but that really dont bother me as much as it should. Someone tell me im being a pratt before I do something silly
11. I would say a BT1 however the VM is based on an older fender and im not entirely sure what year its meant to be. Could be a BT2 which is for 67-82 fenders
12. I tune in DEADG at the moment. I play mostly in drop D so I have a really heavy D sound and find it works for me fine. I have played about with high C tuning but its a pain in the arse to find a set of strings for this
13. I agree entirely with the above. Personally I think it looks like a scrotum but I finally got brave enough to hold one (a Bongo not a scrotum!) and have to admit it just works. Theres no other way to put it, its like an M reg Ford Escort, its not the prettiest, not the cheapest but it just feels nice.
14. I played this when it first came out, being a lefty I had to! I totally fell in love, I have not felt such a decent bass at that price in many a moon. The perculiar bridge seems to add decades of sustain and the neck is wonderful. Alas I depise slipknot and could not live with the fretmarkers. I cant event just get a new neck because thats one of its biggest selling points! There is a temptation to buy it and get a new board put on but then im looking at close to 1k all told and could of just bought another Stingray!

16. These instruments were the highlight of my MusikMesse. They are a Japanese company who now operate the FujiGen facility (if that name isn't familiar you might recognise the name Fender Japan!) Fender Japan moved over to the Tokai factory a while back and these guys have maintained a lot of the machinery and individuals who were involved in Fender Japan. No pics im afraid was far too busy, but first time you see one in UK PLAY IT! http://www.fgnguitars.com/ Very odd website I am afraid, will take you a while to find the familiar shapes!
17. I really do adore the Jazzman, the looks are just spot on for me.
18. Ok im giving it 5 days then going on the bay, Last chance for a bargin folks
19.
Surely most modern mass-producing instrument factories are using CNC machinery for all the body and neck cutting, shaping and routing, so there's no additional machinery or tooling required?
1 gold star for this post completely right, a custom build should be no more expensive to actually create anyway due to its nature. A CNC mill can be flipped from right to left in 2 seconds although fender et al would have you believe this is incorrect. Supply and demand is the reason for the price hike but it does not justify it and their blatent lies about the situation only anger left handed players more. I think the worst thing any companies do is colouring. Fender now offer black or sunburst for lefthanded players thats is Its all nonsense, every large scale manufacturer keeps a stock of bodies and necks ready for any paint someone might order. Offer the full range and just ship it in 2 colourways but if someone wants red let them order it. Maybe there are less lefties but I dont think that means there are less personalities and favourite colours. I will not buy a Fender until they adjust this. Not that that will make a blind bit of difference to them. /rant
20. Im actually at the show had my hands on one today interesting bass will post a more thorough write up when I get back
