1. Pic of truss rod? Just to satisfy my curiosity
2. £700 seems VERY low for a 500+ person venue especially when you take into account mics' cables for everything spare cables Stands etc etc I run a PA rental company and I reckon my rig which was over £3000 might struggle in a 500+ venue If your interested im willing to take time and put together a full list of what you need as close to budget as possible for you just because I'll enjoy the challenge! Let me know
3. Nice! Hope it arrives im intrigued to see it!
4.
Yeah the bass comes first then the idea, in fact I just bought a Peavey International for £36, I haven't seen it yet but I'm sure it'll get the paint treatment.
Is this the ebay bass with no pics? If so +1 for awesome
5.
I enjoy modding. The honest answer is that I have ended up with most of them by accident, 2 of them I got for free and I paid less then £50 for 3 of them. I wouldn't consider the Fenders, VMJ, MM, and SX as entry level and generally they are the ones I gig with.
Thats cool, so usually the bass comes before the idea then? I only mod pretty subtly maybe P/up swap or on my P added the thumb rest and bridge cover. And just did some reading on the SX, didnt realise they were held in such high regard, I saw one a few months back and wish I had plunged now! and agree on the MM, Fenders and VMJ also! cool stuff anyway, do you refin for other people?
6. I never said anyone had! Perhaps poorly worded I meant that it could be a mistake but there is no malice if it is.
7.
Funny I've heard similar things said about Markbass before As usual everything on here should be taken with a pinch of salt - try before you buy, IMHO, YMMV, etc, etc...
And so have I! Agreed with the try before you buy though, this should be tattooed onto the hands of new musicans
8.
Nope. I should have included that in my "list of things the tech support operative MAKES you do". Can you please un plug the power plug, and leave it un-plugged for 60 seconds sir I've already re-set it! Since I asked you to? No! Well I need you to un-plug it for 60 seconds now sir. WHY!?!?!? WHY!?!?!?!
I used to work for a very well known home audio company (who I shall not name) And we used to tell people to do this and when they argued we were told to tell them there was a microswitch inside where you plugged the cable in and this reset the processor. Now am still not 100% but I took the stuff apart several times and never saw anything that could be called a switch.
9.
You might consider this if buying new: http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_sp...s/TCE_Rigs.html (Classic450 and 4x10 for £1099 - a little over budget but budgets are there to be bent a little!) I believe this exact rig was for sale here s/h for £900 last week.
Am I the only person left who isn't a fan of TC?! Dont get me wrong; lightweight, tough, loud (much like my beloved markbass) but they just sound like a hifi to me :s
10.
Yeah, it is quite big, it sounds nice though. When I opened it up to mod it, I expected a tiny circuit board in the huge, decadant enclosure. I was surprised to find out that there is actually a good reason for the size of the thing!
Yeh I took mine apart just before selling it to make sure all was 100% inside and its a well packed thing! also bumping on guybrushes behalf! someone must buy it this is silly money
11. You could go Fender Custom Shop for that money quite easily or Warwick CS
12. Not being funny but I dont see absolute music trying to rip someone off they far too well known. I know next to nothing about PRS though
13. Ill stick my 2p in Orange Bass Terror and OBC410 cab is a good set up take you a tad over budget but not too much if you shop around although cabs tend to be a bit on the weighty side! As a MarkBass bitch though im going to recommend MarkBass LMIII and a Ampeg B410 cab This set up stomps! head weighs as much as a small bag of feathers and the cab is very portable for a 410
14. I just sold one of these for the exact same price! Kind of regret it but keeping it would of required a bigger pedal board
15. That Sandberg is a beauty Keep meaning to buy one but far less important things like bills come first Beautiful lefty on Thomann atm though
16. Black Ric relisted with pics http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=350321752465
17. its not that yellow but dear me is it not the best thing I ever heard

19. Maybe 11! Question though Wayne. And please dont take this as criticism or insult as its not meant as such, but why so many basses that most people would consider 'low end' or 'entry level'? Do you buy stuff with a project in mind? I think every bass except the Sub and Fender J has been hugely modded from what I see here. do you come up with an idea and go find a bass or do you buy a bass when you see one for a bargin price and then decide what to do with it?
20. Im greatly confused, the prices all appear to be in Yen however there is a pound symbol there and everything
21. Im in favour of someone in london setting up a paypal, we'll all chuck in a quid put a bid on and see what we get
22. I got this wierd feeling its stolen no evidence whatsoever for this aside from looking at the fact there is not feedback, pics were taken by someone not at all familiar with photgraphing basses, and the fact they took the neck off and left the strings on. just gut instinct
23. Thats a terrible fake Look at the end of the fingerboard near the nut
24. I love being a lefty! When people do ask to play im almost always cool with it unless they are drunk in which case no way are they touching it! Although as a lefty I know that its not everyday you see a Stingray or a 50's reissue Fender P the 'right' way round! So im cool with people having a go. The amp thing though - dont get me started! I was in the same band for 4 years maybe and both guitarists had big half stacks so I had to buy something plenty loud for even small gigs. I ended up with an Ampeg Cab and Ashdown head and the amount of gigs we did where people wouldnt bring amps was stupid. I had one bassist admit to me at a gig (who had 'forgotten' his amp again) that he didnt bring his Peavey Combo to gigs we were playing because he knew I would have my nice rig. I dread taking my Markbass 8x10 and head out for the first time. I know im going to suffer the same curse of 'I just turned up with my 100W 1x15" combo (which is plenty loud for this venue) but im going to leave it in the car to play with someones 4ft tall pile of pound notes' Not happening with that amp I will not share unless it happens to be a friend I trust in the other band.
