im feeling a midlands location, I mean I am in Kent but as I am sure most lefties would agree it is worth travelling for the oppertunity to play a lot of lefties in one go.

Anyone in the market to try something fretless head to thomann immediately! http://www.thomann.d...=10030= Left handed fretless Warwick Rockbasses for 125 quid. RRP is 600 on those bad boys! I have a fretted corvette Rockbass a couple of years back and very tasty it was too. Edit: Also for some reason Thomann list these as rosewood boards, to my knowledge these all come with tigerstripe ebony boards, Warwick do not make them with Rosewood!

A decent DI is pretty high on my list although my shuttle has a DI out anyway.

When I bought my Vette on here i bank transfered the cash totally on trust and now have an amazing bass to show for it. Here Here. -
Oh hang on! I was looking at wrong streamer, I thought this was an 88 I had seen. Ok, its desirable but not to 7k. Mind you USA Warwick second hand prices are much stronger than in UK. I saw a right handed thumb BO sell on ebay recently in USA for $1400, in the UK what would that be worth? 700 maybe?

Yorick if you come please bring your sandy, I need to try one!

I think logically it should be located either centrally in the country, maybe midlands? or London/outskirts for the transport links and ease of getting there. I would 100% be up for it, if we can get 20 of us in the room with 2 or 3 basses each theres a chance to play 60 odd lefties! I don't remember ever being able to do that! Anyway, I am in Kent and would bring - MM Stingray 4 Fender Japan 57 reissue (hotrodded with duncan) Warwick Corvette 4 String and probably something else depending on what I have bought come January.
1600's when he wasn't born until the 1700's??? But there is dispute as another lesser known man built one around the same time and Drove to Belfast in one and there was an earlier French guy who might have done it too.
Apologies, typo! now edited!
This actually makes your simile more appropriate as Leo's products are phenomenal designs in respect to being so ready for mass production.
That is exactly what I was saying.. not sure how I have been so misread by many!

Im selling a bunch of my pedals (everything except the TU2!) to start afresh with my board, I will openly admit when I put it together I bought what 'everyone has' without really knowing why I wanted it. I now know that what I really WANT on there is the TU2 and an MXR Blowtorch. My band is kind of post hardcore, punk rock. Think Biffy Clyro, Reuben, Billy Talent, Glassjaw all mashed up. Any recomendations of funky or useful pedals? I am selling my chorus, graphic eq and fuzz pedal and dont really want a compressor. A booster would be nice as that's basically what my graphic is used for, is there something out there specially for bass? Any wierd and wonderful recomendations would be looked at seriously

Hey guys, I really want an MXR blowtorch and one has come up so time to move these on and rebuild a pedal board that I want for my current band. BLOGGER Great bass fuzz/drive pedal with a real old school tone. In visually great nick (few little scratches and the like but like all EH stuff its pretty much bomb proof) 2 issues with it, firstly one screw is missing from the backplate, not a huge problem still secure on there. Secondly it will not run from a power supply, when you plug one in the light stays on and the switch does nothing. Still works fine on the 9V battery and I'm sure someone who understands electronics a little better could fix it. With that in mind and a new price of 50 quid roughly online plus shipping I will say 30 quid shipped its yours. CEB3 Chorus You all know it, some of you love it, others hate it! The marmite effect for bassists I always think. Personally I love it but will throw my hands up and admit that I'm pretty pants at dialing it in and it really does not work in my current band setting. 99% mint, fully working, bit of velcro on the bottom. These go at £79 new so I will say 40 shipped. GEB7 The well known and much loved GEB7. Does exactly what it says on the tin but with my Shuttle 6 having such a good flat tone and the fact I pretty much only use active basses now it has turned into a glorified boost pedal. Something far easier accomplished with a simple booster pedal with one knob! Again 99% mint, fully working, bit of velcro on the bottom. These go at £79 new so 40 shipped. Will take 120 for all 3 if anyone wants them or trades for an MXR Blowtorch however I do already have someone offering one to me which I would love to buy so cash prefered.

Andrew Levy is a brilliant player, I have had the chance to spend a week on and off with him before and seen him play and chatted about his basses and experiences in Brand New Heavies. One of the genuine nicest and most talented people I have ever met! I will be there!

Simple fact is that the USA labour will be more costly, the same reason a USA spector is so much more than the Euro equivelent (which are both considerably more than the asian ones!) There are other factors and you could get into long discussions about quality control etc etc but the fact is these instruments we play for the most part (the company of hand built boutique basses obviously excepted) are built for a consumer market. I think many players forget that Leo Fender (the obvious name to spring to mind) did not invent the electric guitar, he commericalised it. He made it possible to produce them quickly, efficiently and most importantly cheaply. When you look at the history of the car a name you probably wont hear or be familiar with is Nicolas-Joseph Cugnot. A frenchman who in the 1700's put a steam engine on a wheeled frame and invented the car. However it is Henry Ford is who is 'father' of the car because he made them accessible.

I have to say MarkBass were super for me, I had a CL108 cab and from new one of the speakers was busted (I assume a shake in transit) They got a new speaker to the dealer in question within 3 days and I went in to give back the bust one and get the new one. They offered to ship it to me but the shop was local.
Throwoff if you have about $3000 you could get the streamer on arni's site! I nearly fell off my chair when I got the reply from him!!!!!!. There must be some kind of equality law when it comes to being ripped off for being special (left handed) !!!!!!!!
blimey is that what he wants? dont get me wrong its a nice one but if I want an 80's one I want the one piece bridge lawsuit headstock version, I would rather spend 2k (less with a haggle) on the Stage II at bass gallery. Im in for a lefty bash!

I'm going to get a Warmoth bass built. Any advices?
throwoff replied to Ian McFly's topic in Bass Guitars
If you play pop rock with keys then active all the way, the ability to boost or cut frequencies is a god send. Not familiar with Nordy pickups, personally I would go for a classic passive p/up like a Duncan Antiquity or a Fender Custom Shop Jazz set. But then thats me, I love an old school passive with an active pre. I would always go for an ash body but then I am a Warwick afficianado and there basses generally are ash bodied. -
What do you hate about certain basses you own or have owned ?
throwoff replied to far0n's topic in General Discussion
My Ray is too quiet. and it cant be fixed. Changed batter, pickup height had it checked out and thats just how it is. To be honest I hate it. -

This guy just made my morning. Looking through his feedback throws up far more gems. God knows where he gets them but a box 20 out of date sheaths is one of his most popular items. -
Warwick do a RockBass Alien which is a very nice bass for the money. Gear4Music have them at 366 listed although it states for some reason they are discontinued (they are definately not) Fishman sonicore p/up and pre plus an ebony board.
