1. There are a lot of good basses in the 1500 price range especially second hand. I have seen more than a few fretless Warwick thumb NT's go for that kind of money over the past 12 months.
2. It is a 70's reissue of some sort then modded. He has gone to the effort of putting a fake neckplate on with a 6 digit S/N but still gives out the Mexican one!
3. lol, im not kidding, this is the quickest mind change ever, I honestly couldnt think how I would live without it! I know some people dont like the big necks but they are PERFECT to me!
4. It is as heavy per cubic metre as a giant iron ball the size of the sun.
5. From working for 2 guitar makers - Many companies have differing levels of relationship you can enter into - Low level endorsers will get things for trade is generally the rule of thumb, these people will be hard working, heavy touring musicians who can get the brand exposure and will benefit from not paying full whack for strings etc when on the road. Often instruments and amps can be loaned out as well to an artist for a predetermined time, a tour, a recording, a TV appearence etc. You might be asked in return to play on trade show booths, demo videos, in stores etc. Next up will be a discounted trade deal, so they will buy for even less, sometimes at this level the sundry products become free, so you pay a little less for a bass and the strings are now free. It all gets more complex if you endorse more than one company (one for strings, one for amps, one for guitars etc etc) but you often get a few more freebies. At this level you are likely to be taken advantage of a little more in terms of being asked to play at events etc. At this level you might get special treatment as well, reserve wood stocks and prototype things to try out which are not available to the public. Then you have your 'established musicians' they wont pay for stuff at all and be asked a lot to demo product for videos, turn up for signing events etc and be used more often in brand advertising. Many people at this level have several companies they endorse. Sometimes to keep everything on the books you will pay a token fee (£1 or so) for everything you have. Above them are your household names, they will get the big ad's, the custom instruments, the works. In an ideal world the brand get them to turn out to a trade show or two but simply having the name is enough. Artists with signature models get paid royalties based on the sale of the instrument or whatever in many cases.
6. Actually I love it, im keeping it.
7. In a side note this just made me call my home contents insurance company to confirm the value of cover I have for my gear! Thankfully it is enough if anything gets half inched!

11. Hey guys, I only recently picked this up from BassMonster on here, and let me first of all say I am VERY happy with it. It quickly became my go to bass and just feels and sounds perfect. I am in no hurry to let it go or to sell in anway. I do however really want a 5 string, ideally a Warwick and this is all I feel I would be happy to trade from the 4 String stable (the other two have a sentimental value beyond any sale price) Please no Rockbasses! I will only trade for a German one although tickle me with non Warwicks if you have something that might suit. 12. EDITED! No im keeping it.
13. 5 Strings ANYONE?
14. I started with a plectrum, as I am sure many of us did! Playing pop punk etc most of my heros used picks and I didnt really see using the fingers as anything but what people in 'the olden days' did. As I progressed musically in both playing and taste I began to feel I could not do enough with a pick and began some formal lessons with the goal of being 'good' at bass rather than just playing. Cue getting into a ska band and using the fingers almost exclusively, buying a ray (based on the tone with fingers) and basically practicing. Now I am back in a 'heavier' band and am back on the pick diet! I like to be able to do both and even throw in a little slap here and there. Good to have the options.
15. Threads like this make me hope my kids are right handed when they come along. SO many cool things they can play! (and will keep their grubby paws off dads backwards ones as well!)
16. PM'd.

20.
It must be great having your head in the clouds. But when you get to the real world, an employer will have no problem chucking your CV straight in the bin. There are still people going after proper degrees these days, after all. Well, you might not get a career per se but a music degree may get you a job. There will always be toilets in need of scrubbing and burgers in need of flipping, I suppose.
Hahahahhahahah hillarious. I can honestly say I have a music degree from a less than prestigious establishment. I now have quite a lucrative career.
21. oh and yes I realise my thumb rest is wrong because the whole bass is backwards.
22. tug bars are cool! Thumb rests are quite personal though, mine as pictured is in the complete wrong place as opposed to a traditional one. However I found that I used the tiny lip the the pickup as a rest when playing so when I put one on I put it where it felt right.
