CIJ Fender 57' P - Neck like a tree trunk, Duncan pickup put in it, workhorse, solid, reliable. Love everything about it. MM Stingray - Neck too thin, don't like the tone, hate the 3 band active. Generally out of love with it at the moment, but it is always the bass I pickup to record with.

If looks are key then both will do the job in a metal band but if you are looking at the sub £300 revenge and bronze series instruments I beg that you reconsider! They are not the best built things in the world (I used to work for one of their European distributers) and although the older and higher priced BC Rich basses can be fantastic instruments in the lower range you are paying a premium for it being pointy, not for how it plays or sounds Look in the marketplace on here, again jumping to assumptions and correct me if I am wrong but for an up to £300 budget there are some stunning buys which will play better, sound better and last longer if not quite as cool looking. I am all about Radio 4 as well. It gets me to work and back Monday to Friday!

I'm sure a BC'er bought one and ended up paying about what the bass was worth on new p/up, electronics and some serious setup work to make it into a playable instrument.
