TOP quality strap - under £900 (NOT including postage)
throwoff replied to Cat Burrito's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
At Musikmesse a couple of years ago I got sent off to find a wide padded leather strap for one of our artists, this was the day before the show opened so I wandered around the guitar halls and found a tiny booth wedged inbetween a boutique pickup winder and a company who made brass saddles with a small selection of frankly beautiful hand tooled leather straps. I introduced myself told them who I worked for and who wanted the strap (it was a well known name) they agreed imediately and said it would be great to get some time to get some feedback from the artist etc etc, which I said I would try to arrange. I took a brown and black plain one (they had some embossed ones but felt the plain was safer) and headed back to our booth, on the way I noticed the price tag on the strap end. 599 Euro. I cant remember the name of the firm but safe to say I have never seen them since at Namm, Messe or anywhere else for that matter! -
Still playing this, still loving it, needs more stickers!

Funny things you've heard at a gig/soundcheck?
throwoff replied to krispn's topic in General Discussion
I was doing the sound and fed up with the band who were soundchecking spending 25 minutes (when I had 3 more bands to check) moaning the monitors were too quiet so I muted the FOH and let them have another bash at the song. Only vocal monitors mind, tiny stage no need to mic kit or amps By this point the monitors were SO loud you really could hear the vocals clearly without the FOH right at the back of the room at which point the singer says - 'you're sh*t, its still too f***ing quiet all I can hear is the speakers at the front' To which I replied the FOH was switched off and all he could hear was how bloody loud he had made me turn the monitors up. At this point the other bands, barman etc all cracked up laughing and his tosspot band skulked off stage. That became a regular trick with bands who had no idea what monitors were meant to sound like who consistantly complained it was too quiet. -

Ok this is truly dire quality, an iphone buried under a couple of jumpers in the middle but I have listened to it a million times and really want some feedback from people! So who better to trust than the BC crowd! No vox, still working out who we want although there are a couple of options, frankly we are blessed in the fact our two guitarists are both very strong singers. Lead guitar is my younger brother. He shames with with his ability. You can probably tell he didnt start as a rock guitarist but a blues player and I think this has given him a unique sense of tone and style when he plays heavier stuff like this. Again, forgive the utterly appaling quality and try to let me know what you think of the song! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YQRzv93WBI

Hey Guys, Selling this on behalf of me dad who is upgrading to a USA. This is a 2004 model made in Mexico. The colour was known as Blue Agave, a nice slightly metallic looking light blue. In great condition, only one major ding of which a photo has been included below. It is on the side of the neck but does not affect the feel of the guitar to be honest. The billy bragg sticker can be removed, it is not on there to hide anything! Only other problem is a very common missing switch tip but we have one on order which will be put on it before it sells. Asking for £220 collected from Kent, will be willing to consider shipping at buyers expense.

Ok, After this being up down, tradeable and god knows what it finally has to go. The wife has been forced out of work and we have banks breathing down our necks so this is the breathing space we need. Great condition, has 2 faults - Crack in laquer near neck pocket (I have seen a few with the same sort of crack, not sure if it is a common thing but certainly seems so) Jack socket plate has pushed slightly inwards and the paint around it has split a little. Both are invisible from the front when being played and neither effect playability. A new jack socket and plate would be a few pounds from Strings and Things so I have factored that in. It will come with a brand new set of Fender Stainless strings (still in the pack new) and of course the Musicman hardcase. Has Schaller locks on it which I will also include along with the locks themselves to go on your strap (hell I might just put the dickies strap there on in the case!) Now we need the money so I am going to say a completely reasonable £700. No Trades and for 1 week only. If no takers it goes on eBay for £750 I will ship it but at buyers expense. Would much prefer a collection (I make a mean coffee) Photos - Bass - Crack - Jack - Be reasonable BC, this is a bargain and it is my time of need!
