Hey - is there anyone else going to this tomorrow? My mate John & I are having stall there so please call & say hi - ours will be the only stall with a green baize off a pool table as the table top cover. I'll put the details of the venue below & hope that this isn't contrary to the BassChat ethos - we are just taking a few secondhand bits & pieces & a handful of el cheapo retored/repaired guitars - (I'm not trying to promote tha sale of our stuff, just to point out that the event is on, and it's usually a good atmosphere. I like these small venues as it's usually more of a "Car Boot" guitar show rather than all the big boys going there - anyway we're looking forward to a day out - and no doubt will spend more than we take! Cheers, Geoff. HASLINGDEN SPORTS CENTRE, HELMSHORE ROAD, HASLINGDEN, ROSSENDALE, BB4 4DN (10AM TO 3PM.)

Hi - Could you tell me whether you can record a stereo mix out of this USB interface onto your PC? I need to record stereo drum track in - I want to set up a small external mixing desk with all the drum mics/levels set & then have the mixer Left & Right mains out into the interface & onto the PC as two tracks, Cheers.

Up for sale is my mate Jerry's rare, three colour sunburst, bass, with highly figured maple front and back, gold hardware, special edition logo on rear of headstock and a neck mounting plate confirming it is number 315 of 500 worldwide – that’s a pretty limited edition. Asking £1250 for it – which is pretty reasonable as even an ordinary new American Standard Sunburst Precision will set you back about £1100.This is up for sale, not for part exchanges, swaps or trades. Info on this model:- 1996 marked the 50th Anniversary of the Fender company (1946-1996), in celebration Fender produced a limited edition anniversary series of the following instruments (Bracketed figures show the total number of instruments made):- 50th American Standard Precision Bass (500) 50th American Standard Jazz Bass (500) 50th American Standard Jazz Bass V String (500) 50th American Standard Stratocaster (2,500) 50th American Standard Stratocaster Left Handed (250) 50th American Standard Telecaster (1,250) Text from the 1996 Fender press release: Exclusive features on these once in a lifetime instruments include: Gold plated American Standard hardware, Highly figured maple veneer top and back, Antique Sunburst finish, Vintage pickups and electronics, White plastic parts, Black tolex vintage case with orange plush interior and vintage Fender nameplate. In addition, each model is equipped with a specially engraved neck mounting plate with the Fender 50th Anniversary logo and limited edition serial numbering (i.e., 1 of 2,500). A definite must for every collection! The P bass has the tags, cleaning cloth, truss rod adjuster, owners manual, specifications booklet, guitar case keys, (also a pair of gold plated Schaller Strap Lock fittings, as the guitar comes with gold straplock buttons on it). It is in the correct black tolex Fender logo'd rectangular case It is in mint condition and, aside from its rarity, is a really excellent bass to play, with a lovely neck, through body stringing, and a great tone – it has the full, deep solid sound that I have always found with good quality Precisions. Please Email me with any queries or ring/text 0778 070 6991 - the bass is in Farnworth Near Bolton, Lancs. I can't get photos uploaded to the Basschat site - have tried the loader several times bt no joy, so I've put them on Photobucket - here's a link to all the pics:- http://s264.photobuc...ecision%20Bass/

OK - to give more info - the PC is running XP home, 1 gig Ram, Celeron R 2.6 Ghz processor. I'd probsbly be best with loops & beats on the drums - I have no experience of VST's or any PC based recording. Budget wise I'd like to keep it low cost to see how I go on initially. For inputs, most I would need would be 2 simultaneously. That would be vocal & guitar at one go. Otherwise Ijust want to put one track/instrument/vocal at a time in. I'd like to be able to put 2 x line levels in at once if need be. Outputs - just to be able to hear stereo playback or to monitor both channels as recording them - but to be able to hear the drum track . Would I need a "Better" sound card - or is the line out OK to hear the recordings if I run them into an external amp & decent speakers? Cheers, Geoff

I'm finally looking at setting up to be able to do demos of songs - - I have a pC that isn't in use at the moment so thought i could "dedicate" that one. Now i need to sort an audio interface & to get the DAW/software - a guy i know has a Lexicon Alpha, and it comes with Cubase. I've looked at these & they are a very good (or it that "Cheap" ) price. Well what opinions guys? What is a decent interface - & which software (and do they have built in drums?) - is it purely personal choice, or are some of them "not good"? Any help much appreciated , Cheers, Geoff
