I'm here (Morecambe) till tomorrow early evening - then I'm off to Rochdale for two or three days. Cheers, Geoff

In red metallic finish, my vintage Gibson guitar all in good working order and in original condition with some marks & wear to the paintwork - see photos . It has two Zebra humbuckers giving a really great rich and full sound, but not muddy at all. All the controls are working fine and it has a nice true neck with a rosewood fretboard. The serial number 83512594 dates it to 1982. These were made by Gibson in the USA from 1980 to 1984. It has a bolt on neck, tune-o-matic bridge and stop tailpiece, 24.75” scale, a rosewood fretboard and Gibson machine heads - you get a lot for your money – a Made In USA Gibson with humbuckers and the looks of a Les Paul. The guitar comes with the pictured rectangular hard case – not made by Gibson, but it’s very strong and protective, and a decent strap.

Avoid shipping anything musical with Myhermes
Stompbox replied to itsmedunc's topic in General Discussion
I've used MyHermes OK lots of times but I know they don't cover instruments, & was suprised to hear all of the above - it's a really handy service in that you can take the parcel when it suits you to a local My Hermes Parcelshop rather than waiting for it to be picked up. So it's Parcelforce 48 for me with extra insurance. -

Hey there - a subject dear to my heart. I think that moving mags on is a great idea - they are horribly expensive at around the £5 mark, and are still perfectly readable/enjoyable/informative even when read months or years alter. I got some from another member here - and when I did, the main cost, is, as Ray has laid out, the mad cost of Royal Mail postage now. 5 mags come in at about 2 kilos, and the only cheap way is, in my opinion, to use My Hermes - that way you can still drop the parcel off at a local My Hermes shop of your choice - a bit like going to a post office - and you get a receipt & could shave a few quid off a 2 kilo parcel within regular UK postcodes and you can get "signed for" facility as well if you want. It's a pity that there couldn't be a central depot/library for all the mags, or, perhaps a "you send me yours & I'll send you mine" arrangement......but if everyone is buying Bassist, then you would all be trying to swap the same mags. There must be a way round this.............

Cor - I couldn't resist it - I saw the videos & immediately ordered this - it arrived today. Magic. Three pickups all with individual switches, one bass "strangle" switch, one volume, one tone - and, oh yes, one tremolo arm..................... Marvelous. Block markers & a rosewood board too. I've wanted a Fender 6 for years, but they are all very expensive, and often in poor condition. I had a go on the Jap reissue, but this one has way better switching - like the original, (and was way cheaper too). Just needs a bit of tweaking, and probably a new nut making - I'm off to the Haslingden Guitar show on Sunday so I'll see if i can get a blank nut there. Got to go & press on now - moving on to Scarlet O'Hara & The Man With The Golden Arm ....... Have my trusty Martindale mains socket tester plug in the wires bag - plus as above guitar capo & spare strings and a ludicrous amount of mic cables and mains cables. I do like the idea of a Kazoo though - I think I'll have to get one now that I've read about the concept of being able to play Hendrix songs on it - will we be able to do Little Wing & Spanish Castle Magic too???.................

SOLD ON GUMTREE Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster Pedal
Stompbox replied to Stompbox's topic in Effects For Sale
Hello there, If you have the small switch set to the mid position then it doesn't affect the tone of the instrument, and you can use the pedal to boost the signal to the amplifier, so it would work as a level shifter for bass. It is really aimed at guitarists - specifically at Fender players who want their Strats or Teles to sound like a Les Paul.
