I sometimes get a variety of clicking sounds when I play at home. Its either the TV, computer or the central heating.

ok that's worrying. I plan on adding another 8ohm cab in the future so I think that rather than opening it up to see if there's a loose wire I'll see about getting it changed over Are you changing the valves in yours or just having a nosey?

The lack of a manual in the box had me on a search to see if such a thing existed as no one else seems to have been able to locate one. Does anyone who has one of these know if the output furthest from the 4/8ohm switch doesn't output anything when set to 8ohms? I only get sound from the output nearest the switch

I was wondering if it had something to do with the switch itself - if it is capable of putting out 500w into 4 or 8ohms then are there 2 250w amps inside operating in some kind of bridged mono when you have the 8ohm switch selected which would stop anything coming out of the other output or should I be worrying?

Ok so its definitely speakon only on the cab so I've got that sorted out and I've got myself a 40dB attenuator as well One small thing - when I have a single 8ohm cab connected to it with the 8ohm switch set, nothing comes out if I connect it to the input furthest away from the switch but I get output from the other output. is that normal? The lack of a manual doesn't help things

Hi everybody. As you may or may not be aware, I'm having trouble getting used to the slab body on my Epiphone Les Paul so have it on the for sale thread either for sale or trade. If no one buys it, I was thinking about creating contours on the top of the body similar to a P bass so that it makes it feel more confortable and then refinish it once I'm done. This is one thing I've never attempted to do so could anyone tell me what the best tool to do this would be? A saw? A plane? Superman? I'm happy about how to prepare it so that i can refinish it but don't know how to best approach the contouring so any help would be much appreciated.

exactamundo Its probably about 1-2mm at the very most at its highest point but I never play with my thumb over the top so am unsure how it would feel when playing

Its certainly different from the coffee table basses in the same kind of price range. personally it looks like a cross between a ceramic toilet seat and one of those exercise contraptions that you push the bars together to work your pecs. but if I played one and it sounded exactly how I wanted a bass to sound, played better than any other bass I'd ever played, hung perfectly on a strap, made me want to become a better player and I had the money to buy it [i][b]then[/b][/i] I would be making the decision whether or not to buy it - I couldn't decide that right now as I don't have the funds at hand to even consider it. The point I am trying to make is that most people here are making a decision based on a picture and I would take a guess that most of us could not afford to buy one right now either. I am very happy with my Honda Civic but if I came into a silly amount of money then I would be heading off to buy myself a Bugatti Veyron even though the Civic does everything I need a car to do very well.

I took the prosteels off after 1 gig - hated them so I'm back to my favourite dead rotos again. I bought the set of knobs and matching strap from a store in the US. Fernandes produced them at the same time as they did the star wars guitars. They did plectrums and other stuff as well I've got the tie fighter pilot, darth vader, C3P0 and Boba Fett

its all done with smoke and mirrors In my opinion Rickenbackers are overpriced - terrible bridges that are fiddly at best to adjust, bridge surrounds that lacerate your fingers, 2 truss rods that work differently to nearly every other bass in existence and that most people are scared to touch, uncomfortable slab body, the midnight blue ones a couple of years ago had a finish that ran underneath the top varnish onto the binding. That and they sound nothing like they do on the records. The price has increased by about 50% in the past couple of years and you have to wait however long now to get one. Doesn't stop me wanting a C64, V63 or the daddy - the CS, though
