1. More pics as promised The 2 pickups are controlled by vol/vol/tone, same as a jazz bass. It also features a jazz bass friendly nut width of 37mm and tapers very little towards the last fret which has a neck width of 57mm. It still has the protective plastic on the back of the tuners and control plate.
2. Thanks for the offer but I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Thunderbirds. I love the slim neck and the growly sound I can get from them but I hate the neck dive despite moving the strap buttons and could never get on with the body shape either. Fantastic rock basses though.
3. I'l take more/better pictures in the morning when it is lighter
4. If you can sell your cab and pick up a Schroeder on the forum then you'll be set. I used a 700RB II and a 4ohm Schroeder 1212L and it was loud enough for any gig I did regardless of size. The amp is plenty loud so I would say to change the cab and keep the amp if you like the GK sound.
5. One other cause - have you checked to make sure that the cable going from the speaker to the output jack isn't touching the back of the cone. that's happened to someone on here before with a Schroeder cab I think
6. I'd have this in a minute if I had the cash - I love the colours. I've got my Epi Les Paul up for trade but if someone offers me cash and this is still here then I may very well be back
7. Don't know if you saw my thread elsewhere but much as I love this bass, I cannot get on with the lack of top body contours so I thought I'd trade for something else. Its finished in the same matt black that the Gothic Thunderbirds were. It is quite easy to mark this surface and my bass does have some marks but due to the blackness of it all, these are not that easily spotted. I bought this recently from another forum member who has owned it from new. When he first got it, the bridge was out of alignment so he removed it and put it where it should be . Obviously this leaves a mark where the previous one was down one side but, again, the colour helps disguise this to any adoring fans at gigs. Its 6 months old, 2 careful owners and sounds fantastic. I'm not offering this initially for sale, so no price but I would like to trade it for something else with a cash adjustment my way if your bass is worth less than mine. I like Epiphones, so something like an EB-3 or EB-0, perhaps something shortscale like a Squier Musicmaster or whatever you may have that you'd like to trade with. I would like one of those bright green Dean Custom Zone basses as well. There's no bag or case with this so I'd prefer to meet to do the trade. These are the only 2 pictures I managed to take before my camera battery went flat but I'll fire some more up after. They were pretty dark so I had to lighten them with photoshop which makes the bass look paler than it actually is.
8. Emailed Mark at the start of the week about an Orange Bass Terror. He told me he was off but he'd pass the details to one of the guys in the shop. Got a call on Tuesday night I think at the back of 5. They didn't have one there but had one in their warehouse so he was going to get it over and despatch it on Tuesday - said it would probably be with me on Thursday - it arrived on Wednesday. did me a good price as well so I'm hapy with the service - not many shops that'll call you to take an order
9. There is no difference in the black and blue speakers except the colour. That's what Ashdown told me anyway.
10. If its the usual 4ohm 1212 then you have no worries - I regularly used one of these to keep up with a guitarist with a 5150 combo and a drummer who liked to hit very hard and all with no PA support
11. yes it is - good news if it does have speakon cos I have 2 cables I bought from OBBM when I had my Schroeder cab
12. we're just amuzing ourselves with childish banter until we find out what really happened. Beats accusations and finger wagging over something that we don't have the full facts about yet
13. My incoming Trace 4x12" only has jack input as far as I know
14. Thought that
15. Ashdown confirmed to me that the Blue ones in the Mag series are identical to the black ones in their new Mag Evo II series - just a different colour I was told that the blue ABM Evo II ones were Fane's by the head dude
16. And we can bring you this latest 'Breaking News' Hamster is reported to be about to come to the front door of number 10 for an historic.... .....no wait, he's just going up to the toilet.....we'll give you further developments on a movement by movement basis
17. Do these only have speakon connections or are they the combined ones where you can also plug in 1/4" jack cables as well?
18. I picked up a black Epiphone Les Paul bass last week and from playing it in the house through my wee Hartke A100, I absolutely love it. Trouble is that its my Rickenbacker 4003s and Fender single coil precisions all over again. Much as I love these basses, I have trouble with the slab body and end up with a lot of wrist pain after using then for a gig. After finishing a gig with my Blue Boy Rickenbacker, I felt like I had arthritis in my right hand. I'm a big chap and this is the main reason I can't use them for long periods, my stomach pushes the bass out a bit - the answer would be to lose the beef and that's what I'm in the process of doing but I was wondering if there are/were any Les Paul basses made with contoured bodies?
19. First gigging rig was a Peavey TNT150 combo which was changed after the first gig for a Trace 7210H cos it wasn;t loud enough. I then added a 1048H cab Would've been using my Riverhead Jupiter bass back then - what an arse I was for selling it - I've been looking for one ever since. 2 weeks to my next gig and I'm sans gear - I should have my Trace 4x12" cab and possibly an Orange Bass Terror by then. My Black precision is on Evilbay until some time tomorrow. Most probably I will be using a Hartke A100 and Epiphone Les Paul bass.
20. i remember him from Bassist as well - sweaty fellow if I remember correctly
21. This is just one of the standard ones - like the MIM Fender Urge bass with just the Jazz pickups.
22. That was going to be my question as well
23. nearly bought that myself then realised that I don;t need one
24. The start price of this bass was £55 and the BiN was £65 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SHINE-5-STRING-ACTIV...=item2a04976bd1 Hello? McFly?

gone

Plus some PA speakers have built in crossovers so you can plug your amp into the input of the sub and output all the top end into another cab for a cheap bi-amp setup The ones we use have filters so we don't need a crossover but I remember using some speakers in the past that did that - may have been Peavey 2x18"s
