Total Watts

  1. I used to have a BTB 405, it was really nice but not quite the right feel for me. Really nice bass though, killer for the price as well.
  2. He does use racked amps (for a very long time now) so that shouldn't be the thing; I think the mic'ed up amp is the dirty one, I think he runs clean and drive bi-amped due to the sound of the EVO and the BTA
  3. Of course random google terms help only after making a thread. It looks like an Ampeg V9 cab, which is quite a break from his Ashdown 810s (imo)
  4. Failed to paste the link, you can see a gap here:
  5. Was looking at a recent foo fighters gig and it looks like Nate's switched to two 9x10 cabs, but I'm not sure what they are. Added the screenshot, concert here. Anybody who recognises this?
  6. Oh that's very nice! Can imagine the regret over not picking the Wal. Couldn't you rewire the battery with a TRS jack and a new toggle switch? Shouldn't drain for sure!
  7. It was not a series that was continued much beyond 2005 I believe. There are some lovely RD900s out there that caught my eye (they have a two-part light ash body, the RD600 have a mahogany body with maple veneer and a maple top). The neck on the RD900 seems a bit nicer too with some binding around the neck.
  8. It's honestly a super balanced and clean sound, really lifts this from a midrange instrument into the (cheaper) high-end sound range. You might lack the growl from something like SD QPs, but I really dig this. Feels like this bass will become my go-to when I don't need a straight-up J or P sound. The MM sound is really passable, though the position is slightly too far back in comparison with a true MM. But still very happy with the results.
  9. Decided to pimp my nearly 19-year-old RD600 and boy am I happy with the results. Put in an Aguilar noiseless J4 neck pickup and MM4 pickup, OBP-3 with active/passive switch, mid/range control (push/pull), stacked treble/bass, and added passive tone control. The latter was honestly not a bad choice at all - sounds amazing and the passive control adds a lot, making it great both active/passive mode. Just waiting for my new stacked knob (the other size didn't fit on volume/tone)
  10. Had this old Roadstar II and it was a great sounding P-bass; didn't really appreciate the P-sound when I had it so I sold it Messy pic but it's all I have at the moment.
  11. Used to have a Sandberg and I kinda miss it, it was a treat to play. However the sound combination wasn't quite for me (could've of course not used the ricky pickup but just went for something else at that point). The relic on it was quite nice, and it had a 0-fret, something I thought sounded pretty neat.
  12. That allparts one is too wide, that's closer to 5 and 7, it's one that I have lying around spare. Thanks for the heads up @simisker - I will avoid them. Ended up going framus ones as they're 4 & 6, used guitarparscenter, they seemed a bit slow but their packaging etc. was solid. Chose a faster method than I used last time.
  13. Everything went well, really happy with the sound. However, I'm having issues with one of my stacked pots - I can't get either of my stacked control knob options (allparts stacked and a boston stacked) to work; they're off-centre and just wobbles. Of course this has to do with the shaft size, but I can't really change that - know of any nice silver 4&6mm stacked knobs?
  14. Cheers for that - going to try to get it all done today
  15. Sorry I was away on holiday - I think it wouldn't really matter to me, I think it would be good if it overrides the active controls, but it's not a must.
