1. Howdo & welcome from over the border - which end of Kent are you?
2. I think - not certain - a real Japanese Fender would have Made in Japan on the neck heel, (or the other Crafted in Japan) but . . . . Looks good but overpriced IMHO.
3. If you lift the scratch plate - can you put up a picture of what's in there? Any shielding on the underside of scratchplate? Are the cavities painted with conductive paint already? Is it just the pots crackling? Or the jack?
4.
What is CITES?
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=CITES
5. Nice one - enjoyed the band too
6. Give me Tina any day https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5zFsy9VIdM
7. Ryan bought my Ashdown baby amp, smooth transaction, paid when he said & no problems at all, great guy to deal with. Cheerz, John
8. Can I be of service?
9. I thought Et's answer was perfectly helpful, especially given the lack of meaningful info in the request. To answer the OP in another way - "No that doesn't make sense" - a picture would help & as always - is worth a thousand words.
10. I would try Fedex first:- https://www.fedex.com/gb/account/newaccounteurope.html
11. I have a 2003 HW1 next to a 2014 RW sig, quite different basses really. Neck width 1.5 v 1.75, nut 'artificial bone' v brass. rosewood v maple fingerboard, shallow c v deep c shape/feel, truss rod at head v heel, standard MiM style v 70's style tuners. Standard Fended P pick up v Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound, Ash body (Transparent Wine) v Alder, 3 ply v single pickguard, chrome v black bridge & knobs, (BadAss bridge on the later HW1's). What have I missed? They both do the job, the RW would be my choice - based purely on the 'doing Floyd stuff' Edit: Exactly as Lozz says "I`d pick up the first decent Precision that comes along."
12. That is more than a bit nice I'm surprised it's still here after 2 days a very affordable beauty Best of luck with the sale Javier, John
13. It looks amazing - in a clever little package - go anywhere with. I'll put 1 as #1 on my birthday list for Jan next, I'll be 65 & got too many basses already!
14. Set ups & the way a bass plays is a very individual thing, what suits one player don't suit another etc.etc. Your 'expert' should know this better than anyone, if it's not right for you have a word with him, could say you should have said how you like the action - or he should have asked before he did the job.
15. I do quite a few concentric pot conversions for Jazzes & P/J's - I can honestly say that every body who's had one are very pleased with the versatility & tone range it gives you PM me for more info. Cheerz, John
16. Geoff got in touch regarding a new wiring loom to go with his new pick ups for his Jazz, we soon arranged the necessary - with excellent communication & instant payment - it was a real pleasure doing business with him. Cheerz, John
17. OK - it looks like it's sold now - just waiting for payment to come through. All this time it's been advertised & then today I've had 4 people interested! If it all falls through - - - Best of luck, John
18.
bad timing for me, if is next month i will have enough cash for this.
If you're serious PM me & I'll hold it for you, or we can work something out. I've just advertised it elsewhere & getting a fair bit of interest 1st day! I would rather sell it to a BC'er Let me know Cheerz, John
19. Reduced to £150 bump & a picture https://www.dropbox.com/s/fp4j3gl9t3yxbh1/MiBass220.jpg?dl=0
20. Andy happened upon a P-bass with one of my kits in, which led to him enquiring about an upgrade kit for his Jazz bass excellent communications & instant payment, a real pleasure dealing with him. Cheerz, John
21. Ashley got in touch regarding a wiring kit for his Charvel1B, great communication & instant payment, resulting in a happy chappy & good feedback A real pleasure to deal with, happy to recommend to all. Cheerz, John
22. That's a very Jizzy Jazz Enjoy
23. There's a song in that somewhere - 'it's all about the pop, when I slap - no tickle', repeat ad nauseum
24. Many Jazz bass wiring relies on the mechanical connection between the mounting of pots & jack socket onto the metal bell plate, it saves .02 pence worth of extra wire but of course as soon as you get a loose nut or even a bit of corrosion under your nuts any earthing is at best - intermittent & doubtful It appears from your photo' that the pots are not of the 'highest quality' & also they are 500K Linear, which is certainly not what I would recommend for a Jazz Bass they are probably at the end of their useful life anyway! I would suggest a new wiring kit would go a long way to solving all your problems
