1. Definitely go. The shop is well stocked with lots of lovely stuff and the lads are super friendly.
2. How about the EWS BMC? I know Bass Direct have this and the newer version of the same.
3. Fab amps, and Karl is a great guy to deal with too
4.
Just bought a white one and looking at a set of white tapewounds. They start at .50 which would normally be too heavy for me but I'm told that the white nylon tapewounds feel lighter - how true is this??
Not looking to derail the thread, but just to confirm La Bella white nylons are available in a .45 gauge, although to be honest I'd stick with the .50s as the tension is nice and low anyway. Great basses these, and the price is good too.
5.
Why is no-one buying this? It's such a good cab!
This.
6.
That might require a little more work, leave it with me ;-)
Tippex as well as a black sharpie!
7.
I could always colour them in for you?...
But then the side dots would be in the wrong place!
8. Relieved this is a lined fretless, otherwise my bank account would be hurting right now!
9. In 37 years of playing, I have never had to play Sweet Home Alabama until just last week. We're going to play it at a gig in the summer as the host specifically requested. I'll be playing it on an ACG 5 string fretless. Not sure what my point is, just putting the info out there....
10.
Dimensions here: Ultralites - http://hipshotproduc.../ultralites.pdf GB720s - http://shop.sollergu...-720-l-cbk.html
Thanks!
11. Hi folks Does anyone know if you can drop in Hipshot Ultralites as a straight retrofit to Gotoh GB720s? If so, which size fit? Thanks Gareth
12.
I mean no disrespect to Walbassist, but Martin Penning is meant to be fantastic.
Hey no problem. James and I have spoken, and as I hadn't spotted that he was talking about uprights you'd be right... I wouldn't know where to start!
13. If it's just a setup (nut, neck relief, action etc.) then I'd be happy to do it. I work at the Uni so could probably do it one lunchtime. I don't do electrics though.
14. I've liked all of Cold Chisel's albums since they reformed.
15. TTE's are great heads. Very good choice. Dan's TF is my old one. It's a top notch bass.
16. Superb amp. I have a Bonafide and a Puma 300 by Tecamp and they are just the business. Another fab feature on these is the rehearsal section - plug in an iPod and headphones and you can rehearse to your hearts content with no cab needed. Karl is also a top fella to deal with, so I am sure this will be gone soon.
17.
I guess a follow on question is whether syringing is usually enough for this or whether something else like microsuction is likely to be needed?
Everyone is different, but syringing did it for me just fine on both occasions.
18.
I had enough of those influences to bring some of that to my rock playing, particularly in 1978-82 Whitesnake, as the songs allowed for interesting bass parts.
"Black and Blue" is a good case in point. Love that cheeky little song, and the bubbly bass line
19. I've had impressions taken twice for custom plugs, and both times it was emphasised me that the ear canal has to be absolutely clear of wax, so you need to tell the nurse why you need them 100% squeaky clean (i.e. it's not just to improve your hearing, it's to have custom earplugs made).
20. Another one of my many strap purchasers! A very smooth deal with good comms and quick payment. Thanks very much!
