1.
Loving the look of that rig Gareth. The RJ amp is probably the only Markbass head I've ever really liked the look of completely.
Thanks, and yes, I have never really liked any of their other amps either!
 2.
... and don't play too near to the bridge.
In fact, rest your forearm on the neck pickup cover of your P bass and pluck with your thumb of a pick right by the neck join!
 3.
I haven't gassed for years but that is a good looking rig. How much did you pay for the bits? I love 15's too.
It was an all ex-demo rig, so not as much as you might think
 4.
I always thought those 15's would work well as a pair. They can go pretty low on their own but they don't get 'boomy'. Running a 2nd one should fill the sound out nicely without it all becoming just low bass.
Yep, that pretty much sums them up.
 5.
I bet the 2x15's kill
Indeed, it's incredibly loud (not that I need that), the lows are full yet controlled, and the tweeter control and "colour" give a nice sheen to the sound to avoid any danger of mudiness. Very happy.... Mind you, the 1x12 cab stack looks a good option too!
 6.
Did I hear that a second cab headed in your general direction as well? If so, I bet the stack looks awesome!
You heard correct Barrie. It looks, and more importantly sounds, incredible!
 7. I sold Mark his old Epiphone Jack Casady back to him. Great communication and a thoroughly decent gent to boot. A pleasure to do business with and I wouldn't hesitate to deal with him again.
 8.
It's like putting Dolly Parton's boobs on Kylie.
9. Another smooth as you like transaction with the great man. Can't recommend him highly enough!
 10.
Not bad it sound really nice and warm crisp and clear which was just what I was after. Only trouble is my LB30 just isn't powerful enough I really need to upgrade my head soon.
I found my LB30 to be plenty loud enough if I was using it with big cabs. Worth thinking about if you like the tone of the LB?
Drool!
11. Here's my new rig, Markbass TTE500 head and two NY151RJ cabs. Tube pre, tube compressor, tube eq, analog power supply. Very loud, and very tubey!
 12.
As my Signature
How's the 4x8 working out for you Dean?
 13. Hi there Could be interested in the amp, but forum rules stipulate that you must state a price when selling items. Gareth
 14. I'm in the process of returning two cabs and these, verbatim, are the options I was given in an email:
1)Musikhaus Thomann organises a return with DHL / your local post. You would simply be required to drop the parcel off at your local post office (with the returns label you will have been sent) and 15 EUR per parcel would be deducted from your credit note for this service.

2)Musikhaus Thomann organises a UPS collection. 30 EUR per parcel would be deducted from your credit note for this service.
3)You organise a return yourself to Musikhaus Thomann. I can't really lug two cabs to the PO so have gone for option 2. I'd have no issue returning basses and amps via option 1, but lesson learned methinks as far as cabs go!
 15.
Nice Is that strung high C or low B ?
Low B
 16. How did I miss this thread? My 1970 P bass and the Veillette Archtop and can I put my BSX Allegro upright in here too?
 17. Sold Dean some picks. A small deal, yes, but top notch communication and a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommended.
 18. Depends what sort of rock sound you are after I guess. Markbass is know for clean, but they do make some heads that have tubes in them if you want (at least a bit of) grit.
 19. As a finger style player all my 30-odd playing years, after joining a Jam/Weller tribute band last year I tried out loads of different sizes, shapes and gauges. I finally settled on Rotosound Celluloid Abalone heavy gauge rounded triangles, which are the same as Bruce Foxton uses, although I also like the V Picks Tremolo.
 20. You can hear the 1x15 here, albeit with an LB30. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjuLMqgk4Qk
 21. Hmm, as you say, very subjective to describe, but obviously very loud with 500 watts going through them! Hard for me to say how they sound compared to other Ashdown cabs as I've never owned any, but what I would say is they sound good individually, the tweeters give a nice sparkle, and they both work well as stand alone cabs too. The 1x15 isn't flabby at all, nice and tight, and the 2x10 has plenty of punch and throw. Does that help at all?
 22. £500 the pair collected, offer lasts until midnight tonight.
 23. Just bought these, they are brand new and unused (well, I tried them once just to check all was okay), but my decision to switch to Markbass means they will be going back for a refund. Ashdown blurb here, although I should add that when I popped the cover off one and looked inside the driver said it was rated 200 watts, not the 125 watts the website says. If no one wants them I will return them to Thomann, but I figured I'd offer them here first as, frankly, shipping within the UK is much cheaper than shipping to Germany! If no interest by Monday I shall ship them back to Germany. Cheers all Gareth EDIT: RETURNING THEM TO GERMANY FOR REFUND
