Hi Eude I gave both a good run. I didn't try two of the Mi10s, but I plumped for the Mi12 in the end anyway as it was just bigger sounding and had a lovely smooth tweeter in it. The Mi10 sounded boxy to me, which I guess is unsurprising as it is not much bigger than a cardboard box anyway! There are two Mi12s for sale here on BC at the mo, so you could sort yourself pretty cheaply if you want to go that route. Cheers Gareth

The white nylons are lovely strings. I've had black nylons on my Veillette since I got it and really grown to love their dark growl and low tension, so when the whites came out it was a no-brainer to try them.

I took delivery of a pair of Fender Tony Franklin basses from the US last week..... I must say I'm blown away by how good they are. The fit and finish is superb (the nitro finishes are [i]beautiful[/i]), they were perfectly set up straight out of the box, both balance well, and they have three terrific tones on tap just at the flick of the pickup selector switch. The fretless is 9.5lbs and is now wearing La Bella white nylons, whereas the fretted is 8.75lbs and will soon have Lakland or La Bella flats, but at the moment it has the stock Fender roundwounds. I've got some spare Rotosounds (the ones Bruce Foxton uses) if you fancy a couple just to try? They are "heavy", 1.1mm I think. No charge

I've owned the Ashdown Spyder 550, LB30 and CTM100, and all are superb amps. I really liked the LB212, Klystron Classic and Mi12 cabs too. Customer Service is first class too, possibly the best I have ever had from a large-scale manufacturer.
