1. Nice! What's the balance like on a strap?
2.
What are those 'things' on top and side of the cabinet?
They are the locks that allow you to flip the head over into the cab when you transport the unit.
3. Weight and balance please fella!
4. Very smooth sale of an amp to Andre. A pleasure to deal with.
5. Just played a 4 string single H in Cayanne Red at Wunjos. Very nice bass, really well put together, good powerful eq and the pickup has tons of presence. I am impressed. My only concern was that with such a short horn the basses will be consistently neck heavy, and this one was (but only marginally).
6.
Can you PM me about the JJ with price + shipping, please?
To be honest, I am not sure sending one valve plus shipping is worth your while. Is there nowhere you can source them more locally?
7.
I was thinking along those lines too. A 12 cabinet like an Ashdown Mibass 12 might be good.
I have a Mi12 and it isn't actually that small really. The Mi10 though, is diddy
8. Looks so cute and diddy (the bass)!!!!
9.
Is it too much trouble to ask you for the width of the 12AX7's Mullard and Sylvania so i can see if any would fit inside the metal sleeve of my alembic f1x? Also, could you describe the diference in output/timbre between both? Cheers
Hi there Mullards warm and rounded, and 20mm wdith. Sylvanias, still quite warm but more detailed, and just over 20mm width. If you want lower gain in your F1X you can also try the other valves I have I also have a modern JJ 5751. Cheers Gareth
10.
Any sound clips?
Stuck at home feeling sorry for myself after some dental work, so just recorded this on the Zoom Q3.
11. I like the look of that. Not sure why, but I do.....
12. Ashdown CTM100 should do the job. Mine is very loud!
13. Thanks guys! Does that mean I could use the inbuilt USB in the Q3 instead, and somehow prevent it opening the bundled Handyshare software?
14.
Did the CTM ever arrive Gareth. Quite interested in one myself... Missing my Little Bastard terribly
Yes indeed it did, but it's at Ashdown right now having a full check up (the bias system wasn't working correctly on one side).
15. Yes, thanks, got all that, but not sure which. Choices are: WDM Kernel Streaming Direct Sound WaveOut ASIO Dummy Audio WASAPI
16. So I have a 3.5mm - 3.5mm jack to jack connected to Line Out on the Q3 and the mic input on the laptop. How do I set up Reaper to see the Q3?
17. Hmm, if my Veillette sells I am on this. What's the weight and balance like Chris?
18.
Do you know, I have played bass for well over 30 years, and I have just realised at this very moment that some basses have dots/blocks/ markers at the first fret...and some don't ! I have literally never noticed that before right here right now . Presumably, some unlined fretlesses have side dots at the first position and some don't.
When I read this post pre-gig on Saturday evening I thought to myself, "my current fretless doesn't have a dot on the first fret", but then when I got it out of the case I realised it does! However, to get back on thread, I have just spotted (new in a shop in the US) a fretted Tony Franklin bass in sunburst; I thought the fretteds only came in amber or white.
19.
It's always handy when the correct course of action is to do nothing...
Cheaper too
20. Are you planning on keeping the Ampeg? If yes, pedal, if no, amp!
21. Sold, and off to Germany today
