First MM I’ve had for years. Although I’ve put a P neck on it that I prefer, and a preamp out of a Brubaker that has some coil blending. I’m pleased with the way that the pattern looks. It’s just a stick on sheet I cut to shape.

My mate runs a sign writing company and could do a wrap for me. 😎

Just a bit o’ fun… New band The PsychoDalias. I thought I’d try a different scratch-plate to reflect the bands name. Thoughts? Keep the black carbon original, or the new one? Control plate…keep black, or psychedelic it up?

Rare G3140 Historic Series Gretsch Made between 1999-2003 by Peerless, with USA DeArmond pups. Sublime build, in excellent condition, play’s wonderfully. Zero fret wear and looks as cool as anything. Bought this from a dealer and it hasn’t left my house, only taken out of the case to play or just look at 🥰. These are significant improvement over the current Far Eastern offerings (which are pretty good btw). I’ve allowed GAS to get the better of me and I need to balance the books, so as this doesn’t get played it’s on offer. It comes in a new Tourtec (non Gretsch) hard case. Collection welcome from Bath, or meet up by prior agreement around Bristol or midweek in Dorset Poole/Bournemouth/Shaftesbury areas. £599 Add £25 postage uk only.

Hi you beauties Does anyone local to Bath/Bristol areas have an old semi acoustic bass (hofner/guild sort of thing) that I could borrow for a photo shoot please? Can be broken, not working, in state of disrepair, in fact the grubbier the better? Date to be confirmed so no rush. Happy to pay a deposit or rent it. Thanks for any assistance. John

How many basses do you take on stage?
oldslapper replied to Mickeyboro's topic in General Discussion
I take one for each song. So if the set has 20 songs, I take one bass.- 170 replies

Thanks @Woodinblack I genuinely thought it was a scam email. Glad you guys are on this stuff. 🙏

I had a message yesterday in my associated basschat email account telling me I had been locked out of basschat temporarily due to site issues. It asked me to log in again through the link provided in the email. The email had my user name. However, I didn’t follow through with the instructions, but quickly looked on here to find I wasn’t locked out. I never follow links in emails unless it’s actioning a request I’ve made on a site I know and trust. The scum are sniffing around.

Afternoon you lovely people. I am needing to replace a barrel jack in an active bass. Is there specific type one needs for active circuitry? Or is a standard mono one sufficient? Thanks for any advice you can offer. John

Where is the best place to find a band of session work ?
oldslapper replied to fiatcoupe432's topic in General Discussion
Glad to hear you’re recovering btw! Get your “online” presence out there. Videos of yourself playing, something about yourself, links to any music/videos you’d be happy for others to view (and you have permission to share) then put it all on YouTube, FB, Instagram, etc. with # to genre/location/etc. The drummer I’ve worked with most over the past few years did exactly that. She videoed herself doing some covers, with fairly lights on her kit (that was her only gimmick). The Darkness were forwarded a link of her cover of one of their songs, they liked her playing, and she ended up touring and recording with them, and now is incredibly busy. Self promotion, using social media is now the “postcard in a guitar shop” or ad in melody maker. Best of luck. -
I don’t have Sky. How do I watch this? Can anyone show me the …. No? Ok…

I’ve been offered a Gnome, so sale only £150 for a great amp in great condition housed in a brand new rack case. Fab Amp, flexible tonal shaping, 400 watts at 4ohm, built to last and housed in a new 2U rack deep case. Would keep this but the EA cab is so much lighter I’ve decided to go for a lightweight amp too as I only use it at home. My “big rig” needs are met through other means. Solid-state with 400W @ 4 ohms. This is a great amp: quiet, powerful, and very adjustable. 3-way switches for low, mids, and high settings of cut, flat, and boost plus parametric filter settings for mid boost/cut and high cut. An 8-band graphic with switchable bypass offers further tone tweaking. There's a 3-way switch for limiter on, on-with-graphic, and off. Phone jack out. DI out, switchable pre/post. The rear panel gives you a groundlift, tuner out, line out (post master), effects loop, footswitch for graphic on/off. Speaker outs include one XLR and one Speakon. Fan cooling. Full protection. Very adjustable and set flat, it has a strong, smooth, transparent clean sound. Happy to meet up within a reasonable pre arranged distance, or pop over for a try out. No postage at this stage, sorry. cash is also good.
