1. If you're happy to pay the shipping, yes Interparcel are pretty cheap.
  2. The Fly guitars are gorgeous, and if I was a guitard I'd have one in a heartbeat. The Fly basses are, to my mind, utterly fugly. Golchen's right, they look lardarsed.
  3.
Just to stir things up
What, you? surely not!
  4. No longer on hold so it's back up for sale with a price drop.
  5. The Cali JM5 is one of the few basses I have serious GAS for.
  6.
topic title edited for the benefit of basschat's pedants.
I don't know what you're on about.
  7.
The BFB Big One might do it for me, mind..
+1 I adored the sound of my old SWR Triad, just wished it was lighter and a bit more ballsy. So the Big One would be the obvious choice.
  8. Trumpet player's mate took this one of me at a gig a while back. I adore it.
  9. That's why I'm bringing my cans! Seriously though, I recommend bringing 'em if you've got 'em. And yes, Shuttle+Bareface is a combination I'd like to hear too.
  10.
Carpel tunnel op? Sorry to hear that, Rich.
Don't be... I'm not! I'm looking forward to getting my fingers back.
  11. There isn't one on the list yet, so I'll bring along my nice new G-B Shuttle 6.0 (now added to list ) I won't bother bringing cabs as it looks like there will be plenty there already*. Will definitely bring my cans though..! Not sure I'll be doing much playing, as it's only going to be 3 weeks after my carpal tunnel operation. * Unless anyone desperately wants to see/hear a pair of Nemesis 1x15s..?
  12. People always focus almost entirely on his slap playing, which is very unfair really. His fingerstyle grooving is as tight as a gnat's chuff, and his ability to sing over even his most fearsomely complex bass parts is just uncanny. For my money, that's his most impressive facet. I get a bit bored with his wockity-wockity slap stuff these days.
Can't believe I bought it ten years ago. The good old days of Yahoo Clubs and the Webdigest eh Rich! Hey, that means we have known each other for 120 months!
Oh damn, and I haven't bought you an anniversary present! Errm, can I take you out for dinner to make up for it?
  13. Walk away and don't look back. Everything about this is yelling "dodgy!" in a very loud voice.
  14. I shall never forget my first sight of him -- it was 1982 & they were playing 'Foundation & Empire' live on Channel 4. I'd been playing bass for a couple of months, and suddenly there was this bloke doing these outrageous things... I was hooked, instantly.
That's my old Jaydee he's using!
Think you'll find it's his old Jaydee, mate
  15. For my money, possibly the best bass head Peavey made.
  16.
Here's the 5 string Marleaux style one for £199 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HK-5-String-Custom_W...=item1c0d4e71c0
Blinking flip That's really quite tempting actually..! Would make a good spare/chuck-it-in-the-car rehearsal bass.
  17. That's pretty much how I did mine. The only differences are 1) I used carpet tiles which I [s]stole[/s] [s]lifted[/s] borrowed from work, 2) I cut a carry-handle slot in mine -- I highly recommend this, it makes it dead easy to carry even if you only have 1 or 2 fingers free! and 3) the layout of the foam. I used 3 bits of foam because at the time I had an SWR Triad, and I was a bit concerned that 2 bits of foam wouldn't handle all 80+lbs..! I expect it would have though. I suppose it's possible that with that centre strip added, mine will block less vibration than yours. It certainly works bloody well as it is though! Excuse the tatty black paint on the underside... the spray can ran out and after all this time I still haven't got my arse into gear to buy another. So... yay for homemade Grammas! 18. A work of genius. Mrs ezbass should be justifiably proud of that. I'm surprised anyone could bring themselves to cut it!
  19. Totally different from the stuff being talked about, but this is just incredible...
  20. Pros:

I'M GETTING ONE! THIS WEEK!! *jumps up and down like an excited 3-year-old*
Cons:

It's not here yet.
21. My experiences of Interparcel are good. But Parcelfarce? I wouldn't entrust stuff to them if my life depended on it.
  22.
Think Whitney may have had a little Colombian marching powder before her performance.
I'm pretty sure her people will tell you that She Doesn't Do That Sort Of Thing Any More...

I like Marcus, and enjoyed the Frankenstein vid. Not his best though, admittedly. Run For Cover is a belter. I hate Nick Cave with a passion, and thought his vid was mind numbingly dull. Doesn't make me right and you wrong, or indeed viceversa. Newsflash! We all like different stuff!
