1. I like this one at formingbands.co.uk http://www.formingbands.co.uk/site/view_de...&cur_page=0 No past experience in anything... and one of us cant play for s*it! But he will dress up like a clown XD We like metal and just wanna p*ss about tbh...
2. I drink and play. I'm ok with it. That's at cheap pub gigs of course. As the money goes up my alcohol intake goes down. If you want me to play sober you have to pay me for it!
3. I gigged a reissue for a while in my indie rock days. Good tone, really skinny neck. No feedback problems at all. Just not very versatile.
4. Hi guys, I have an Ashdown Mag 300 115 for sale at £180 or trade for something interesting! Collection only from Hemel Hempstead or I can meet up within a reasonable distance. Not much to say about this one. Good nick, never been gigged...or rehearsed for that matter! A small fault in the carpet covering that was there from new.
5. I've got one. Totally happy with it. Loud enough and small enough. Saying that it would be replaced by something fancier if I had the money. But for £200 you can't go far wrong. I haven't messed around with the aux. in or anything though.
6. I follow you too...and on fb. I am very obedient.
7. I've been following from the beginning. Do I get a medal?
8. I'm in Hemel if you want to try the Harley Benton?
9.
I hope you are joking. I'm a big fan of Ernie Ball Wonder Wipes.
Nope.
10. Short scale Satellite. £25 from local junk shop.
11. I use WD40.
12. I gig a Harley Benton BA500 through a Barefaced Compact. For the money, I can't fault the Harley Benton at all. In it's function it is pretty much a Markbass clone with vintage and modern filters. It's pretty loud although the clipping lights do come on early. That's slightly disconcerting but I haven't noticed the sound being affected yet. I guess the biggest gig I've used it at was a party at a golf club in front of 200/300 and it coped admirably. As for sound I can only comment on it paired with my Compact and that combination sounds great but has loads of mids. I knock the mids down completely to just get a flatter tone. It works for me and if I do need to cut through more I have plenty of mids available. Overall though the sound is fairly neutral and I am pretty lucky in that the Compact sounds totally awesome and does most of the work in that area! I am not sure I would be totally happy with the 250 version though. I reckon it might not quite have the headroom for a larger gig. EDIT:Edited just to say that as happy as I am with the HB if I could afford a Streamliner I would drop it in a second!
13. I think Black Beauties would get lost on my rosewood board with pearl blocks. If I had a maple board and white scratch plate then I would be all over the black strings. I just want to be a brightly coloured whore for the punters!
14. Just a quick bump to see if... 1) Is anybody still using these. 2) Is the cheapest option still US ebay? 3) What colour for a white bass? Thanks.
15. Greatest. Thread. Ever.
16. At this very moment... Life Story by Angie Stone.
17. Rather embarrassingly we start with Sweet Home Alabama. At least it gets it out of the way! I am currently trying to persuade the guys to do Everybody by the Backstreet Boys just so we can start the second set with... "Oh my God we're back again..."
18. I tune up at home. Well, every couple of weeks anyway. I carry my bass in a gig bag. I tweak the tuning by ear during the sound check. Then I leave the thing alone. I just try not to lean the headstock portion of the gig bag against anything during transportation.
19. I just use regular terminal blocks. The small, white/clear ones you can get from any DIY shop. They work fine. I am not a friend of soldering either. Don't worry...it's not a crime!
20. Gig + money = win.
21. I probably should wear a mask, just as a courtesy really.
22. Not only are you a great bass player with a good ear for melody, I bet you could kick Paul Gilbert's ass!
23. First ever gig rig was a Laney Linebacker and a Vox bass I had to borrow because I didn't have one at the time. Current rig is a Harley Benton BA500H, a Barefaced Compact and my Retrovibe Aero2.
24. I used to use Spotify a lot but changed to Grooveshark. But now the latest version of Grooveshark doesn't work in my favourite browser. So I swapped back to Spotify just before they announced the changes. I hated Last.fm but I guess I might end up back there.
