1. I have a early 90's Peavey Megabass head that I use as a poweramp for a VT pedal. It's heavy and on the way into the rehearsal hall last night it fell out the bottom of the reinforced cardboard box I carry it in. It fell straight onto a concrete path from chest height where it bounced and span a time or two. "sh*t!" my fellow bandy's said, "that's the end of that". "Don't panic" I reassured them, "It's a old Peavey" and I plugged it in and off it went. I was never was in doubt. I've had it for 20 years and it's taken worse hits . I don't call it my Peavey head though. I'm attached to it and call it Jonah Lumo. http://youtu.be/-uslnjij6NY

3. Hi Gary, Sorry to hear of your Daughters poor health, hope its nothing serious. Where abouts are you?
4. Couldn't tell you about the amp but you can get them cheaper. http://www.soundslive.co.uk/product~name~Peavey-MAX-112~ID~12733.asp
5. One of our guitar players has a decibel meter as an app on his i-phone. We've used it to measure and then smooth out the volumes switching in and out of effects with good results.
6. That's a big change in style. Relax a little, enjoy the experience, they've stuck with you for 6 months so you can't be doing to bad. Playing with musicians better than you will only make you better and if you've got the money, spending it on a good teacher is the best playing investment you can make.
7. Sarum guitars in Salisbury is a Sandberg stockist with 5 or 6 of the beauties on display. 10 mins walk from Salisbury train station which is on a direct line from Waterloo. I haven't been in there for a good few months mind. Their number is 01722 341497 if you want to call em to see what they are holding.

Tech 21 VT Bass

Hope this helps and its not teaching you to suck eggs but as a 'user' its all I can think of. I got a similar effect once in the first 20 minutes of owning it which had me jumping at the amps off button sharpish. There is a lot of boost in the pedal and a quarter turn on any knob is huge and they all interact with each other. Its best to bring level down at any time you bring the drive up. Got to go careful when boosting on an active bass as well especially the guitars volume knob. Watch this: http://youtu.be/3obmpDOs8B4 and note the point when he uses a thumb and finger at the same time for 'drive' and 'output'. I run level anywhere between 11 o clock and 2 o clock depending on what output the soundman wants from me.
9. Bought a cab from Mike. Easy and hassle free transaction and keeps you in touch with what and how he's doing it. Deal with confidence.
10. Thanks Mark - looking forward to making the exchange. And if you check back in on this Lozz I'm gonna be marrying this up with the one you passed on to me for some vertical 4x10 ampeg goodness. I'll let you know how they pair.

12. Re Phil Starr's advice above Stereo amp with variable freq crossover here - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...amp;hl=megabass Don't let the watts put you off if interested as those are old school american watts though does need 4 ohm cabs
13. I hear Bravewood basses have taken a knockdown on the reputation front.

VT Bass V2
hi guys, Ive been thinking about getting one of these... Not sure which, i'm thinking maybe spend the extra £60 on the Deluxe, as i really like the subtle overdrives but would definitely like to have a clean and a really heavy overdrive through it too. I was just wondering, Is this the kind of pedal that needs to go after your bass but before your Amp? It just seems, because its a Preamp Emulator that maybe it should go before everything else? You see i was thinking about adding it to my pedalboard (In an FX Loop) But will it work better before the amp? Cheers
This should help: from the manual. WITH BASS AMP: Run the 1/4” output of the SansAmp directly into the input of the power amp input, a.k.a.“effects return” (if applicable), of an amp. This will bypass the tone coloring section of the pre-amp and will defeat the amp’s master volume. NOTE: BE SURE the BASS GUITAR VOLUME is OFF --BEFORE you turn on the amp. Or, you can run the SansAmp into the front input of an amp. Be sure to keep the Level of SansAmp close to unity gain, so as not to overload the amp’s input, which could result in undesirable distortion. Tips for setting up your amp when using front input: 1. Plug into low gain channel or input. 2. Turn off Bright switch. 3. Turn presence control (if applicable) to 12 o’clock or below. 4. Set tone controls as flat as possible. PLACEMENT ORDER OF OTHER EFFECTS In most cases, your bass should be plugged directly into the SansAmp.We suggest experimenting to find the order that’s best for you.As a general guide, we recommend: Place the following effects BEFORE the SansAmp VT Bass: Wah-Wah, Pre-Amp, Compressor, Fuzz Box, Envelope Follower. Place the following in the FX loop or AFTER SansAmp VT Bass: Chorus, Delay, EQ, Pitch Shifter, Reverb. 16. I think all comments back to the OP have been fair and good but if someone made an appointment to view then failed to show without calling I know I'd be miffed.
17. ulike maybe Yamaha P7000S Stereo Power Amplifier
18. Super lovely high hat on that manwomanboogie to go with the bass line too.
19. I use a .88 sharkfin style pick and oddly use the finer point (so its back to front) to strike the string with as it feels to me the least bit of pick you can use to hit with the less the force against and into your wrist.
20. The very best of luck to you, enjoy.
21. Thanks for that icastle. Got it now. The power amp in is the one to use as its post eq. The front loop being pre eq. Picked up this Peavey head just to be a cheap power amp but its actually a very versatile amp. A lot of options on it, though as we've found out a bit confusing with its in and outs. Also the better 'pre' is much needed for it and the vt is just great for that. Cheers.
22. Took delivery of a 'big money' pedal from Salt yesterday. Twas beautifully packaged, absolutely pristine and came with all the original gubbings. Like new from a shop. Took my paypal glitch in his stride. Easy going yet proficient.
23. xgsjx is right in stating the amp has a single jack loop on the front but also on the back has a power amp in jack. I guess on this amp a new question has arisen. Does it make any odds which of the two inputs is used for the pedal?
24. Thanks guys, thats great. We have a maplins in town and I'll be swinging by on the way home from work tomorrow. (talk about quick as well - what a forum)
25. I've an old Peavey mega bass head I hope to use as a power amp with a Sansamp vt pedal. Oddly, the effects loop has a single Jack as both the send and the return so It'll need some sort of compatible cable. Would anyone know what the cable might be?
