1. Maybe not the best but I'm gonna plump for 'Clerks'. And for a great film and song piece - 'Kick Ass' when the little girl proceeds to kill many baddies to a punk cover of the banana splits.
2. One approach, which would be very space saving and well within budget, could be to record direct from a sansamp vt pedal. I haven't done this personally though.
3. Thanks all, Onward I go then, head held high, thumbin a struming, down with the purists.
4. I started as a punk player with a pick. Older age has brought a mellowing and now I'm back playing I've taken to playing with fingers for the warmer sound. However I play with my thumb for the downstroke and first two fingers for the ups like a finger playing guitarist does. I beleive that this is not regarded as good technique for bass but I don't know why and wonder and ask what the downside for this is. Its been a very natural way to swap a pick for fingers. My thanks in advance.
5.
..just got back from AC4. - not the kind of swedish hardcore i usually watch.. they were awesome, full of energy and thoroughly entertaining. i recommend. i'm not used to going to gigs without sinking a few beers (driving), but i still had a dance. no doubt i'll be able to watch my idiotic flailing on youtube in a week or two.. tomorrow should be crazy too..
Cheers for the nod on AC4 (loved refused) glad and jealous you had a good time. Your Saturday looks great - an ear thrashing followed by head mug - enjoy

Evening

Year long lurker taking the leap and saying hello to any who's listening (reading). Have learnt and laughed in my basschat stalking time sitting back with a scotch (or three) and enjoying all your banter. Was a player between 18 and 25 in couple of originals hardcore/Jazz punk bands till the dreaded tendonitis/carpal tunnel forced me to quit. Been back playing last two years (in mellower fashion) with a cover band which blew out after a handful of gigs. Really enjoyed it however so now planning and jamming with a couple of guitard neighbors ready for the next assault on the local water holes. I'm gonna be needing good advice, second hand gear and knowing ears to blow off to when it ain't all going well. Basschat seems the place to get it all so hope to be seeing ya round good people.
