    Gen 2 Barefaced Midget-T, the one with the adjustable tweeter. Comes with a Roqsolid cover. I bought this on here early last year as a stop gap when I was unable to take my Big One to rehearsals when transitioning between vehicles. I only used half a dozen times over a couple of months and it is now surplus to requirements. It's in immaculate condition and fully functional. Prefer collection, or possible meet half way within a reasonable distance. Will consider posting at your cost, which I think will be between 20 and 30 quid. Cheers for looking.

    I think they have their own sound. Probably a good idea to listen to some clips on YT to give you an idea. The D'addarios ones aren't cheap unfortunately, but you could probably flog them on on here if you didn't get along with them...

    Another vote for La Bella LTs... have 'em on my Lakland, and I get a pretty good fat sound out of them. I would say they are marginally stiffer than the TIs, but there's not much in it... Have you considered half rounds? The D'addario ones are very nice, and the light gauge set is not too stiff. They definitely cut through better than flats IMO...

    I've always used SS, tried nickel in the past and didn't like them at all, however I've recently tried them again on my Dingwall ABZ5 and I'm starting to think they have a better tone for some of the funkier stuff I play... so at the moment I'm completely on the fence, although I did vote for SS for historic reasons.

    I'm 52, I got up to around 13kHz which I guess is not too bad for my age. It's definitely dropped off a bit since I last did this about 5 years ago though... better enjoy it while I can!

The HPF makes a big difference to retaining those lows, especially on a 5 string.
