I like Tolex, if I had my time again I think I'd have bought my AD200 rig in black instead of orange though, the orange is cool as f*** but its stinking already!

I'd be interested to know about this. The blacktop Jazz looks like an amazing bass, just has the wrong neck profile for me.....

are these true humbuckers or split coils under chrome? obviously they look like humbuckers but the exposed pole pieces make me ask.

Ive dropped Rich a message based purely on how good this looks.

I had a similar P bass moment at the studio last week. I've owned various P basses in my time, a US 78, a 70s CIJ and a 51 and found them all missing something in a live situation. BUT at the studio I played a mexican 50s P and I loved it. I don't think it will replace my T-40 live but I was blown away by the recorded tone. The balance was off on this particular one though with the body being too light.

thats a really nice looking bass, it must have been a blast to build it yourself too. I'd like to do the course at some point.
