I had a bongo, it played like butter. To this day I wish I could have got on with the complex preamp.

Feeling a little 6 string curious these days, but I don't want to buy one and not be able to play it/not like it. What can I do? Anyone fancy temporarily trading a 6 er for one of my stable?

I butchered and sold that jazz unfortunately. I think the grabber is a keeper though. I spent a long time looking for it and a lot of cash importing it. The jazz is one I should never have sold though. I'm game for a two man bass bash though. I'll send you a message now.

I want one big time! The slider has a really serious rock tone. Being made entirely of maple it has bags of harmonic warmth, bite and growl. Sort of like a P only better in every way in my opinion. Here's a pic of mine next to my old jazz. [IMG]http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h373/ashrome/054b23f2.jpg[/IMG] The neck is pretty big, weight is good. Not too heavy but by no means light. It's the only Gibson bass I've ever owned or played so I don't really have a lot of comparison. The pickup in the slider is a master piece IMO, they are also in the explorer bass so I'd love to get my hands on one of those too. If you weren't so far away I'd come have a go in a heart beat.

Mines a slider and again it's an incredible piece of kit. It's a bit of a one trick pony but the one trick it does is pretty empressive so you forgive it. It is my weapon of choice for recording and will be for gigging again once I get it's tuners stabilised. I think it's had a fairly hard life though, I imported it from the states a couple of years ago and it has been played within an inch of its life since. I'll post a pic when photo bucket starts working again. Tell me more about the LP bass. I think I want one.

Why oh why would you want blocks on a P?! I don't think much of the basses, especially when Nash are out there too, although the Tele/Les Paul Jr hybrid guitar they make has something about it, shame the pickup is mounted so close to the bridge.

That's really nice. Does he have a websh*te?

I thought Elite II Aswell, but the bridge doesn't look right to me, I know it could be a modification.
