1. Indeed i do have one of these babies and I love it dearly, I will post some pics of it when i get the chance, Im not gonna lie tho its a bit of a dog in comparison to all your fine examples. I got mine in a straight swap for a 78 p-bass, To this day I'm not sure weather it was the best or worst thing I ever did.
2. Boss TU-2 is industry standard for a reason
3. Im viewing with intent to buy on sunday
4. Put me on the maybe pile, I can bring some gear too if you want. I have :- 1972 Gibson Grabber Jap non-export 60s Reissue Jazz with Shed pickups a badass and a terrible home relic effort. Peavey T-40 (Peavey's first effort of mass production bass, Two phat old humbuckers, ash body with maple neck, coil tap, heavey weight but interesting, the neck was made on a machine designed for making Rifle butts ) Fender mongrel P-bass (US body with mex neck, custom powder blue finish, Delano pickup, straight through wireing) may have an Aria Pro II SB II Elite by then too. Ampeg SVT Classic Ampeg SVT 8x10 E Sans-amp programmable BDDI I like to show off, I know its nothing particularly special but I do love my basses.
5. yup, it'll completely transform the bass too, I have one on my jazz which is modded to hell and the badass is easily my favorite mod. obviously though if your p is string thru it wont be any more

8x10s

Nah i like my 8x10, i was tempted by a 6 but then i found my Ampeg second hand and it just had to be done. its power handling is fine too, it just feels asif it could have a little bit more of something, then it would be perfect, Im not even sure what that something is. Can anyone recommend speakers to upgrade to? baring in mind it needs to stay a 4ohm cab and i like my tone vintage dirrrty and warm.

8x10s

OK it goes like this. I have been very happy with my Ampeg 8x10 for a good while now. However I used a Marshall one saturday night for the first time and I actually thought "f*** me this pisses over my ampeg". Anyone got any thoughts on this? or know of anything thats better again? Please let me know as i am having an identity crisis about this
11. awesome head. i have one that i use when i cant afford valves for my Amgeg, with a sans-amp theres very little difference. have a bump on me
12. that sounds good man, what kind of a tone does it have? ive never heard the pickup and am struggling to imagine it. Is it low or high output?
13.
Not beyond the bounds of possibility
thats always good to hear, gimme the run down on it and a price and ill see what the bank manager says

18. PM'd re muff
19. Sansamp programmable bddi is the sh*t man. I can't tell you the ammount of times mine has saved my skin. I use an svt 8x10 rig now purely as stage reference. I honestly can't sing it's praises enough
20. Amen brother. Every time i see one i just wanna smash it. 6L6s dont belong in guitar amps
21.
Fretbourd LED's, I think its possibly the most attention seeking thing a bass player can do! Rick's, dont like them, cant see the appeal. Fenders, I absolutly hate these things. Ive never played a Fender that feels nice to play, they sound ok but just feel horrible. Ill agree with the point from the off, Ashdown. Ive never been able to get a usuable sound out of them! Dont hate me for voicing these! Dan
Backed as f***
22. The MESA/Boogie rectifier range. I know its guitar gear but f*** me do these things annoy me. I am the bass player, I will deal with subsonic frequencies thank you very much. You just try not to get lost in the mix next to the other guitarists 30 watt orange. Thank god he saw the light and bought a JCM
23.
Valves and "tried and tested gear" are over rated. Digital amp modelling can replicate some of the most intricate of tones, it's almost a miracle, and yet without even bothering to open their ears and listen, half the gear-buying public immediately shout "NOTHING WILL EVER SOUND LIKE MY FENDER THROUGH AN ALL VALVE AMP".
In the studio yes, but you find me a local venue engineer who has the gear to make a digital amp sound good against valve amps. I must say I am entirely of the opinion that nothing will ever sound like my Fenders thru my SVT. One mans tone is another mans nightmare.
