Guy finds 62/63 Shell Pink Jazz Bass..it's all going off on Talkbass
Quickly...send the bass to the UK to be looked after by the Basschat collective. Then again it would probably be extradited without any proof back to the USA.
Boom -
With little clutches of foolish, red-faced fundamentalists screaming "Give the bass back"?
Only, in the quiet of the night, when their dormant thoughts lap against the hard shore of their morals, does such sentiment reveal itself in its true form - no more "give this bass back"; but, rather, "give it to me". And, if I can't have it, no one can. The utter f***wits. Topically, for a nation of our lord, we shall turn to Corinthians 13:11: "When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me." On that basis, could you frigging well hurry up with putting them behind you - lest someone require a smacked botty for encouragement. -
What a tosser... why would they do that? Tis none of their business.
This question could go round, and round. Like the wheels on the fun bus. The real question is, of course: is the fun bus good for metal? I still missed how the bass originally came to be in your hands; am still working on the basis of the facilities chap passing it on - I think, under UK law, you'd struggle to see how the family would have a significant claim to the item, or be able to secure it's return without some serious goodwill on the part of the current owner. I'm unsure how it works in the US. You have some strange customs, including suing each other every five minutes, which preclude my further desire to understand. Hopefully, little of ill will will come of it. But yes, it's a bizarre escalation. Let me know if you want me to contact the family of the TB member to query how they managed to breed such a scrote. -
Oh, I only know of the one near the hospital - there you go, learn something new every day!

Which is Fireglo? Is it the same as this one?
Jeeeeezzz Mrs KazOgon has got the ironing board cover to match your bedspread but I use it for tinkering basses on so I guess I'll have to let you off
Ditto. I almost missed the flying V in the background amidst the glare! Lovely Fenderbird.

Yeah, my Charvel came back to me from Jon - very light bass, super little P/J. If it hadn't come back I would have had the mission of finding another one!

Lads, I think you need to look at this again - ok, so the OP isn't naming and shaming; but there's not many social clubs in Grunos, eh? In fact, I'm pretty sure there's only one on the estate. So just avoid that one, eh?

Oh, and sorry if I'm a little down on that part of Wales - my lot are from Flint, hence the 'gobby Scouser' tag Nothing like a bit of North/South banter

Well... not quite life expectancy - but, rather, healthy life. They're expected to lead healthy lives up until that point, on average. I don't know about the rest of you, but I was aiming to bat for a little longer. But yeah, it's a well-renowned shithole. No work, no prospects, nothing. Well, apart from crime.

I was about to say "name and shame" it, but caught myself The matter should be reported to the police. It's not the done thing on the night, maybe, when an appearance is liable to work against your best chances of getting out in one piece - but after the fact, at some safe distance, get it done.
what are you some sort of bass playing race horse!!
I prefer the term bass playing stallion, of course
I had a thought just now... I wonder if my rather protruding beer gut pushes the bass far enough away to cause weird wrist angles?
There would be a lot of us in that club, if it were so. My resolution, was to try and emulate my early Nirvana hero, by playing the bass as low as possible - but this has a corresponding impact upon my glass back. In terms of adding weight, is it not best to do that to the strap rather than the bass - with some skill, it would be possible to sew the additional weights into the strap.
If a luthier sells an instrument he has a brand.
So Shuker would make the list, along with similar ilk? I agree.
Who knows? These VMJ Squiers may be commanding large prices in 30 years time. If the logo has been changed it may devalue the bass. The market is a strange thing at the best of times. On the other hand it's your bass so I say do what you like with it. Mind you they do say you should play your Squier with pride. I just don't know. If it was mine I would leave it the way it is. But it's not mine so go ahead and change it with all the blessings of the decal gods. I should get the prize for the most unhelpful post ever!
No, I think I can win that award - by merely pointing out that he would have to keep his bass for 30 years. Which would be a mircale, given the pervading influence of Basschat and it's For Sale section
Cheers! It's the first project that not only did I manage to finish, but also doesnt make me curse the wind for what I have created! Truckstop
Nice work chief, the grain looks great after your efforts. Also, I'm borrowing the "curse the wind" line - nice!

Musical Magic - How often do you feel it with your bands?
Gust0o replied to xilddx's topic in General Discussion
We have our moments. We have some big riffs, where you can feel the band pulling into sync and just going with it. Myself and the guitarist have caught ourselves playing headstock tennis or going a bit Quo at those moments, but it's all good patter. It's not a constant. There's no kind of zen, just those moments - and the usual relief/euphoria of pulling off a good gig. -
One thing really bugs me about Bass designs..............
Meh. It's just a hole you stick your thing into.
Bam! And all this talk of nuts... well, it's unseemly -
Still, since I found my cynical hate down the back of the sofa, maybe they could start a f***ing club about it? #1 in the "I copied some famous basses and then someone copied me and that's not fair" club, or something?
