1. What you having done to the Ironbird? I can't remember if it's the red or black one you now have - with Grover Titans and the tremolo?
2. Toasted has a point, to my mind. Would you be better starting with something like an OLP, if considering heavy modification? Much more economical - so, to borrow Toasted's comment, you'd only be burning a small pile of money going down that route
3. Is this the same bass that Leon sold recently? http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=119436&hl=olp Any issues, or did you just not get on with it?
4. Bubblewrap - I use a lot of it, as people who've received basses from me will testify to I start with a good box, and you can normally have one from your local music shop if you ask nicely. Use heavy duty tape to not only seal it, but support any weak spots (e.g. corners, etc). Remember, critically, to make which way up you expect the item to be stacked - neck first will not be healthy! In terms of the bass, communicate with the buyer - make your clear your plans and get their agreement; especially important if you're doing things like taking the neck off. Bubble wrap and card will support sensitive areas nicely. Also think about how the bass will move in the case - will parts rub, like tuning pegs, strap knobs, etc, and adjust your packing to cover. I don't know if people collect old shopping bags when they're done at Tescos, but scrunched up they're useful to 'pack out' the box and secure the bass - alongside styrofoam, shredded card, etc. And, thinking out loud, loosen the strings!
5. Thanks Mikan, it's a real favourite - very nice player, and a present from my wife Great to see the Widow back, Lorne. It feels like it's been away forever, but it looks great with the chromed edges.
6. Yeah guys, the text is there. Case included - thus it's part of the lot, regardless of how prominent or not it might be. Thus I think the use of the dispute system is justified, and I'm hoping it will drive out an equitable outcome. I'm hoping it will stay civil. I think, looking at the other thread, some people have been too quick to throw out comments - and I think some will come to regret them.
7. I think they're all keepers - but, in order to keep something, you must possess it for a period of time; and it's all in how you define that period of time I have one which is a 'keeper' in the purer sense of the word, which is the Lakland which was my wedding present. That's definitely a keeper - well, for as long as I keep the wife or she keeps me
8. The chap from High on Fire plays one. Am £300 and divorce short
9. Nige is right - it's extending the licence some to call it a signature bass. Warwick provide P-Nut with one of course, and BGM did a review last year, though the price tag was £3000+ from memory. They looked at the TM 'Zulu Warrior' signature in the same feature.
10. I'll reinforce the above, it sounds like a P-bass - but whether it be a Fender Precision, or a P-bass from another manufacturer will come down to your preferences.

Sorry, I was having a late browse - I love the vintage kitsch of it. Have a bump!
12. Or you could bang it up in the Ebay links forum?
13.
I still need to give it to Gus and lower the action a tad, and put on some proper straplock buttons.
Fixed
14. ead, this Ibanez RD605 in For Sale looks cheap enough: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=121558
15. That's a nice looking bass. I've never seen one in the flesh - what's the sound like?
16. That's a fine looking bass, Shonks.

Am I being dopey, but where are the strap buttons?
18. + Wizard. Lot of love for Andy and his work.
19. That look stunning, Jim.
20. I've got the same set-up in my MTD Kingston Heir 5, which also have the Active/Passive option. You get a good range of tons from it. I tend to play finger work over the neck J for the bluesy moments, yet get a reasonable approximation of an MM from picking at the bridge. I'm wondering if anyone is close enough for you to try?
21. I think the karma must be turning, or something. After my own thread we had a bit of an honest chat about things, and I think we made some progress - certainly, the tuning debacle got sorted! The comment about your girlfriend. I just don't know where that would come from, it seems so unusually hurtful. I would have reacted in like manner.
22. I regularly growl at Youtube. There's a chap on there, DavidSinRocks, who always makes me look sh*t. Quick edit - I assume we're both talking about the same guy, as he has a blinding cover of that track!
23. Maybe we could offer him some kind of asylum?
24. The Black Spiders - Stay Down Motley Crue - Too Fast For Love Mainly been writing my own, these last few weeks.

This is f***ing brilliant. Slightly beyond my willingness to bargain, but what a brilliant bass.
