  1. Ernie Ball Cobalt Strings. What a load of junk! only difference is the way they make your hands smell! and yes those STUPID chunks of wood people are putting between their pickups! seriously no need for that crap.
  2. My Sandberg did exactly this. I wasnt exactly sure what it would sound like as all i knew is that i wanted something different to my old Ray5. Best Decision i ever made as it certainly makes a different sound + much much more and can get close to my old Ray if needed. It was a very good suprise to get
  3. just out of curiosity, how does it sound? i have owned a good few Spectors in my time but never heard one with a MM style pup in. Anything similar to a MM?
  4. ah man that is ace! wish i had some cash!
  5. cheers Mike, i will try it again at rehearsal on monday to give it another try and after that its back to the repair shop, the guy who 'repaired' it first time just changed the valves and set the bias. obviously missed another problem somewhere. Yeah it got warmer than usual on just a few minutes playing which aint normal. I didnt try the half power setting but will give it a go. Thanks for your help mate.
  6. i really do like the old style for sale forums, i tend to browse these the most out of the whole place. Most times its good reading finding out what people think of things for sale etc etc. i rarely buy stuff. I would be happy to pay a sub to help keep the place going, i like it here i know it attracts people here but if the only people allowed to use the for sale section for sales were subscribers then it could be one more bit of security for buyers/sellers avoiding potential pain in the bottom deals.
  7. I bought this from a pal off here for a recording session the other month and its done its work now. Virtually as new, has all the box and bubble wrap etc. awesome clean to filthy squidgy funky filter pedal! great fun. Dont see the need for photo unless someone wants it as they all look the same Price includes courier shipping. may trade for something.... dunno what though. if you got anything worth a go then let me know! £40.
  8. Dudes, could do with some of your help and guidance on this one if you could. The other week, one of my tung sol 6550's in my V4 decided to light up like the sun and blew the amp out as well as the mains fuse, all valve fuses still in working order. The right hand side output transformer seemed hot enough to cook on! i tried swapping out a few valves with some spares i have and it kept popping the fuse. I then decided to send it away to my local amp dude (Barry something or other in Crewe). Got it back 2 weeks later saying the only thing it needed was 2 tubes replacing and didnt get much of an in depth story on what was wrong. I dont mind, as long as it works!! I picked it up today from the shop and took it for rehearsal tonight and found that yes it did work but it farted like an arse and just had no guts, meat or volume to it even when maxed out, which i have never ever done. it seemed like its running at half power or something. I had to have a pair of second hand valves installed instead of a full re valve as i cant afford it this close to christmas, they are also a different brand its all biased correctly but something is still not right. all the EQ and compressor works fine but its just running on empty. again the right hand side output transformer felt rather hot compared to the cool left one even when only played for 10 minutes. I then decided to use the back up Peavey firebass thing that had loads more headroom and is only a 450w SS amp. Any clues dudes? I will be sending it back but could do with some help in diagnosing myself. Nice one!! Will
  9. suprised this aint gone. THese whoop all over the BDDI as it has the full mid range dials. Its like a swiss army DI pedal rather than just the bass. I love mine.
