1. I have up for grabs my Sansamp Para Driver. This is one proper mint bit of kit that i am sure you guys know about. This is the bigger better version of the Bass Driver DI as it has the full parametric mid range that the Bass driver does not. Kinda makes it a swiss army knife of a Pre Amp / DI pedal as it also sounds killer with guitars and to some extent vocals. I started using this on tour at venues where if i knew they had a decent monitor system i didn't need to take my full rig. It helped out so much and saved lots of lugging equipment. Also helps if you are plugging into someone else's gear as you will always be able to get monstrous sound. It is in near perfect condition as it spends its life in the little metal case it comes with that has taken the bumps. Comes with all instructions and even the sticker!! The price includes next day Parcelforce delivery. pedal on Tech 21 website http://www.tech21nyc...radriverdi.html great review and demo here Here are some pics
2. Hell yeah i would love to have a go of this. I have just seen the Alpher basses and added them on my facebook. I love the look of them and would love to give one a go. 4 stringer would be best for me.
3. dont sell it dude. These ARE the holy grail, i have a V4 and will never sell it. i have been close to selling and backed out as they are just too good. Lightweight stuff just doesnt compare to the grunt you get out of one of these.
4. yeah i didnt like them either Pete, i complained to EB about the first pack i had as they literally lastest 2 weeks before they died. The gave me a 2nd pack free of charge which was nice andwere a little better but they ran out of steam very quickly and didnt sound good after the breaking in period was over. I am currently using Fender strings and loving them! they are meaty.
5. I have been using tung sol 6550s in my v type V4 for years, I love em and are rock solid. Bet they would sound great in a CL
6.
Doesn't that start with guitar?
ssshhhhh i just remembered that. i thought id got away with it.
7. 4 pages in and nobody has said Nirvana - Smells like teen spirit! Well i just have done.
8. Yo! I randomly found an old Big Jam SE6 graphic EQ pedal in my old cable box a few weeks ago that i must have bought years and years ago and forgot about. I had to have a nose around the internet to see if there was any mojo with these old school things as i know nothing about them. I just wanted to see if its worth selling on if its collectable or not to be honest, as i dont need it so its as good as a doorstop to me.The LED that shows if its on or off flicks from red to green and being bloomin colour blind i cant see!! lol. Because info on these is so sparsed online i thought i would ask the bass boys! If it turns out its worth more than scrap then i will chuck it up for sale (with website contribution of course) if anyone wants it. Anyone? Nice one. Will
9. I didn't get gas for one because of the whole wonky fret thing, it kinda played just the same as a normal bass. Those neodymium pickups they use sound bloody killer!! And the 37" scale makes them awesome for low tunings. Proper meaty!
10. i briefly tried an ABZ4 at Bass Direct. Wanted a Dingwall ever since. I do much prefer their take on the P and J compared to their own shapes in the higher price catagory. The Combustion series look spot on for the cash as well!
11.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I'm glad that the single speaker is quite easy and cheap to change. When I opened the cab I realized at the latest that the cab is built like a tank and it's definitely going to last my whole life. Awesome piece of gear and the 4x10" + 1x18" stack is the loudest thing in the world. The amp is a Finnish point-to-point handmade custom 300W tube amp Monster el Monarca. There is more info in the manufacturer's site http://monsteramps.f...an=3&page_id=63 The guy who makes these amps is also fixing it. Luckily Finland is quite small country and most of the big cities are being located in south so the fixing service is also quite near. I have posted this picture to this topic in the past but here you can see the amp.
my god i love the Chrome finish on those cabs! I might have to have my 4x10 done like that (sorry).
12. Nice one, glad its all singing again.
13. nice one on bagging that combo. I kept looking to see who was going to have it, looks amazing. 200 valve watts is the equivilant of around 8 million fake digital watts I had a Trace 4x8 V Type combo for a while, it weighed 32kg if i remember correctly. Was well worth carrying as it sounded solid as a rock and loud as hell! If you fancy using it more often, get yourself a little sack truck so you can wheel it around easily Have fun!
14. ur thinking of trading a Matamp for an Ampeg? I went the other way and was so glad i did. I had the SVT410HLF and i thought it was a cracking cab - til i tried the Matamp. They totally smash ampeg cabs! (i think so anyway). I even tried my Matamp 410 over a fridge and thought mine was better in every respect.
15.
Sandberg don't make a T-Bird shaped bass so they are certainly not a Mike Lull equivalent!
i will just point you here http://www.sandberg-guitars.com/basscat-overview/customshop/customised-basses-1/customised-basses-2
16. I have a Sandberg PM4 or whatever its called now and its amazing. I played a Sadowsky P/J Metro and i really really prefer the Sandberg. The Sadowsky felt like it needed a darn good setup to get anywhere near what my PM4 is. I will never get rid of my Sandberg, i am a total fanboy, it just sounds and feels amazing to play. I will partner it with a Dingwall at some point though
17. i think its broken beyond all repair. I will send you my address and you can "recycle" it straight to me Seriously though, i hope you get it fixed. I have a V4 and had to re valve it recently as it blew a tube and fuse. I would send it to a decent amp tech to have a look over. Hopefully just a dead resistor or something small.
18. WOW!! i have honestly never seen another one. Nice to see! If you dont mind me asking, reply by PM if you want, how much did you pay for it? Not that i am toying with selling up, i would just like to know the going rate!
19. Took this crappy shot last night at rehearsal and thought i would share it with you guys. I have just had the V4 re valved with fresh Tung Sol 6550's and its never sounded better. I love this setup.
20.
This will probably get me tagged as one of the humourless PC brigade, but what on earth constitutes a gay bass sound? I've heard gay bassists playing with about the same range of sounds as straight or bi ones!
Its also one dirty rock bass player giving another dirty rock bass player and long time friend a bit of jib about his crappy little broken toy amplifier can see how some people dont understand but thats just how we roll. Time to worry when the insults stop
21. yup, not what i was thinking. i will go again now
