[/quote] The Knightfall's definitely more in the OCD ball-park than the Rat. I find it's a warmer, less aggressive sound overall, but you definitely still get the bite and cut if you boost the 66s treble control a wee bit... Defo get the 66, mainly so you get the two channels and diode selection, and make sure at least one side's germaniums! :-)

The Blower Box IS a helluva unit though! [/quote] Thanks Paul. I've had a Blower Box now and got rid of it before any details of the Animator schematic were available (I.e. Before anyone even speculated that it was a Big Muff derivative!), so question already answered! ;-)... I say that there's no better sound than TK-421-X with filtered clean slightly blended in, and asymmetric LEDs. Gain just over a quarter so the clank's there when you dig in. Amazing sound. Blower Box is just silicon diodes, which gave a bit too much of a compressed sound for me. I also found it really hard to get unity volume on low gain settings without boosting the eq, which made it a bit too flabby!...

It makes me very sad to have to list this pedal for sale My custom order Cog "Signor Gatto", commissioned with a mission of building a overdrive to replace my Xotic BB and Fulltone Bassdrive, together with a RAT clone to destroy all RAT clones! The result was this pedal, named "Signor Gatto" by myself! It comprises:[list] [*]A bass-tuned [b]Darklighter Overdrive[/b] Circuit, with internally selectable 9 or 18 volt power (for added headroom in 18v mode, via an internal voltage doubler) and switchable flat mids. [/list][list] [*]Tom's [b]TK-421-X[/b] (RAT clone) which has selectable diode options, and was further modified by Tom this year to include a clean blend and LPF for the clean signal, as he explains: "Clean blending is included for those who desire it, with the addition of an adjustable low pass filter (LPF-1) on the clean signal to allow the user to choose from a full-range clean blend, all the way through to a heavily-filtered clean sound adding pure low-end and nothing else. This means you can retain the upper-mid bite and leave it unadulterated by clean tones, but still add in clean low end should you feel the need." I am selling as I now have a couple of other seperate units from Tom, this is now just a bit too big for my board, and I am unfortunately in a slight financial bad-patch at the moment! :-(... The pedal has been gigged and used however it is still in excellent condition, having been protected in my pedal case since I started using it. To have something similar built would currently cost upwards of £260, and Tom is getting orders left right and centre at the moment so imagine build time is also a factor. Sounds just like JJ Burnell, so I've got a Jaco tone on the bridge and Stranglers tone on the neck ...They seem to work well together somehow though!

I do have this problem with a couple of the saddle height screws...I didn't need to check them after initial set up, but checked last night and three are locked (including both on the G string saddle). I'll have a word with Mark, as I'm also interested in getting an aged strap pin for the back of the headstock!...

Only thing I'm not sold on with mine is the shade of the Burgundy Mist, and yours looks to be the same. It's a lot more purple and darker than on vintage Fenders, and the CS models. Guy Pratt's looks quite a bit lighter for example...I wonder what paint Mark uses for these?

I think it's actually darker than the standard shade...I do love it though, it's beautiful :-) I paid for the case, though Mark has a deal with Hiscox so it was a lot cheaper!

Some photos of the Burgundy Mist Jazz! Bit rough, but it's the first chance I've had since I got it... The only initial issue is that it's come with a higher action and quite a lot more relief than I'd usually like (about 0.8mm), so I need to get that neck off at some point and give the rod a tweak...Very happy with it though Mark's craftsmanship and attention to detail is astounding, i.e. slightly shrunken scratchplate, wear at the end of the neck and on pickups (as though the strings have actually been whacking and bouncing off them for 50 years!), and I have no idea how he's done such a convincing job of "yellowing" the scratchplate! ...

Thanks for the advice guys. Yeah, just a wee bit terrified about even taking any bolts out of the neck, but I guess it's the only way...
