  1. I had the self same bass. Great build quality and we'll worth tweaking. I changed the pots, jack and cap to better quality ones, same as John, Kl0gon uses. I went for a 0.1uf capacitor at his suggestion. Bleeds a bit more treble off and gives it a real Motown vibe. Only other thing was a Wilkinson Vintage bridge. Bit more substantial than the Squier one and the brass saddles look cool. Absolutely cracking bass after only a small bit of tinkering.
  2. Have sent you a PM.
  3. There are a ton of similar threads to this on BassChat and to find a suitable speaker you need to model the cab in WinSD in order to decide on a suitable replacement. I'm sure someone with the knowledge will be along soon to tell you what measurements are needed, ie internal dimensions, port sizes etc Or just send the speaker to Wembley Loudspeakers and they will recone it
  4. Thats a good deal but would require major surgery to fit it as it's a fairly large pre-amp block, has 4 controls, (so side mounted jack needed), and then room for the switches.
  5. Great idea. Entwistle pickups are awesome for the money and there's nowt wrong with a Behringer BD121 for less than £20 at the moment.
  6. You will really struggle with that budget to get a pickup/pre amp set, in fact I don't think there are any other than some cheapish Chinese ones on eBay. The go to pre-amp for ease of fitting for a jazz would be one of John East's or an Audere, both of which are around the £200 mark but are a doddle to fit as you get the bell plate. EMG do an active pickup set that is "plug and play", and they do some EQ modules you can add but again more than your budget. @ClassicVibes came up with the best solution by buying second hand but likely to be 2 separate items.
  7. Yep, no problem at all. I'll get hold of him and be in touch.
  8. A pal of mine does them as his day job. He's a drummer and does a lot of drum decals.
  9. Wish I got a reply to the 2 emails I sent. One direct to Guy and one to the main Cust Service email.
  10. Received mine on Friday. First impressions were similar to everyone else. Feels solid, well built and the carry bag is a bit of a joke. Got to use it last night. On first switch-on, the fan is a bit loud, but I've had other amps that are equally loud or louder. I practice with a Bass Trainer, so that doesn't bother me a bit. Plugged in, everything flat, including the bass and the core sound is great. It's Full, Fat and Loud. Only needed a bit of a tweak, (Bass DOWN a tad. That's a first), and we were there. Sounded great during the gig and didn't get lost in the mix during the gig. Kept pace with the guitarist turning up 4 times, (as they always do) and I didn't touch a thing. Tons in reserve as the bass volume was about half and the same for Gain and Volume. It is a seriously loud piece of kit. Like @Phil Starr I actually prefer the tone to my aged MarkBass SA450 so won't be spending the dosh to get it repaired as I seem to have found a replacement. The Tuner is a nice touch and it appears to be accurate when compared to my TC Polytune. All in all a happy chappy.
  11. And here's what clearly looks like a Godlyke Disciple that appears to be a Bass Collection. Now even more confused, but SGC Nanyo gets you that way. 🙂 https://reverb.com/item/31155996-bass-collection-sgc-nanyo-4-string-blue-tigrestripe?fbclid=IwAR2raYjTVUcdEZCvTHRqC8lRHTyxQAWjIPhlTE7Ky7YzgjCy9hBjYx7GlKM
  12. I haven't a clue where I got it from. It's been in my bits case for years. PM me your address and I'll send it to you.
  13. One of my favourite bands. Still watch their Montreux Jazz Festival gig regularly. Took me a while to realise John Turnbull from Ian Dury and The Blockheads was part of the band.
  14. This one is a DPDT On/On/On but not that much bigger than the normal micro switches. The black Cap is an optional extra.
  15. Have tried Mousser or CPC? I might have one. I'll check my "bits box".
  16. Hasn't been marked as Sold though!!!!
  17. OBBM it is then.
  18. If Bassic Bits were still in operation, you would get a shed load or recommends. Award Session are equally as good in my opinion and a Speakon lead would be even better but I assume your setup hasn't got Speakon sockets.
  19. I have used Warnex Structure Paint in the past and I believe this is the stuff HK Audio use for their cabinets. Works a treat tarting scruffy cabs up and our guitarist, who also runs a PA Hire Company, uses it to keep his kit looking nice and fresh.
  20. Possibly, but I can't get over spending £200 on something that is possibly not even worth that. The SA450 might be even more to repair as there are only 2 boards in it. The pre-amp board and then a master board that includes the power amp and power supply. I'm sure when I had a look inside my LMII it had a number of boards.
  21. The Delano MM range all come with 4 wires, ( 2 for each coil ), and a shielding earth. Everything you need is there to wire up to the correct switch and you can get single/series/parallel switching. The link to the wiring diagram is in the first post but I'm sure it's included in the paperwork with the pickup.
  22. As a long term Mark Bass fan and from what I have learned and seen, everything inside is mounted on a number of PCB's and Real don't do anything at component level. It sounds like it could be a Power Supply problem and that is all mounted on 1 board. The other thing to consider is that if it is a Class D model then it really is a "swap a board" excercise. I am having a problem with a 12 year old SA450, (Little Mark with parametric mids), that has suddenly sunk to practice level volume after not being used for 6 months or so. It just isn't worth chucking nearly £200 at it as it's only worth around that figure. Problem is i haven't found anything to touch it for sheer "grunt"
  23. Yep, that's the truth. Here's a solution for less than the repair and 3 year warranty.
  24. I know s couple of people who had Little Marks repaired by Real and they were in the £150 - 180 range. This was just the repair cost. I believe they will supply/sell pcb's, but you still need someone to diagnose which one needs replacing. Don't they waive the £35 if you go ahead with the repair?
  25. Thanks for confirming. I will definitely be going as the original Manchester show was excellent.
