If I can sell my Jerry Donahue Telecaster over the next few days I'll be very interested! Unless you fancy a trade for a g****r of course...
…you won't be disappointed, it's a great bass! Alas my GAS is directed squarely at four strings, or five…

Hey all Up for sale a Fender Jazz 24: Seymour Duncan pups and pre, 3 band active with mid scoop/slap switch, Hipshot lic. tuners, quilted maple top - tobacco burst, rosewood board, just had setup and fret dress at Waghorn in Bristol w/new set of Ernie Balls. The plastic electrics cover on the back has scratches but apart from that pretty much mint. Looking for £380. Any questions fire away all the best Graham
  3. this is my favourite Marcus clip, cut cruelly short though. someone says its with dave grusin. anyone know where the whole track/set might be??? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bD3zq4qBEZA...feature=related
  4. Came across this t'other day, awesome tone (looks like a JO) and great example of a less is more groove http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hlValXM1kc8...F71&index=1
  5.
nick beggs is a legend, seeing him Thursday with Kajagoogoo
I always like the 'Big Bubbles No Troubles' thing with Ellis Beggs and Howard, cyclic and well groovy
  6.
And also his Ovation Magnum. Phenomenally ugly instrument, sounded great in his hands though!
Didn't Jah Wobble play one too back in the day? Now there's a player…
  7. +1 for Adamson (Play such a great live album) and Howlett (beneath the Gong silliness was an awesome rhythm section of him and Pierre Moerlen) I've always like Derek Forbes stuff on the early Simple Minds albums, when they were quite experimental …and Jim Smith of Cardiacs
  8. Traded amp > bass with Andy. Smooth deal, nice guy, good coffee, recommended
  9. Paid £450 for mine recently, seems to be the going rate. Cracking basses too, good luck with sale
  10.
The Per Amp is the Bartolin1 NTBT 918: The NTBT-918 is a tone control preamp with fully independent Bass and Tone controls with very low noise and wide boost/cut range. It is 2/3 the size of a 9V battery. The sound is very clear and transparent. Distortion is well below 0.001%. The preamp can be used with either 1 - 9 volt battery ( 9 volt operation ) or 2 - 9 volt Batteries ( 18 volt operation ) which yields 6 db extra headroom All the best, Mick
Hi Mick, loving this bass and the HF clip, what's the neck like/comparable to on this and how does it play, whats the string spacing. Guessing the tonal range is pretty good??? Thanks

    MB1 Feedback
MB1. BUMP!... Grahamd
MB1 trekked down to soft southern Bath and paid cash up front for my Status. Very smooth deal and nice guy to boot, could have gassed (geddit) for ages, nice to meet you mate… all the best GrahamD
  12.
My recollection is Karn is completely untrained and doesn't know what he is doing, he just does it. Or was that just 'anti-establishment' posturing? Who care? He pushed the envelope and that is always a good thing. I'll read it. And he had great taste in basses
+1. Class player, never really got the props
  13.
Boy that looks like it was WELL worth the wait!! 'grats my man!!
+1 veh nice indeed!

  18.
wow its strange to see my old bass come up again. It was my first ever bass! Good price, it sounds great too. does the case still have the 'arran is for lovers' sticker on it?
stickers gone now Luke, but is is a great sounding bass!
  19.
Well... I didn't expect to see this moved on so quickly! It truely is a lovely lil bass in great nick. Someone give it a good home. Good luck with the sale. P.S. Graham's a nice guy to deal with too.
thanks man, hope all's good up your way. come on the reds!
  20.
ooh very nice, i dont usually like sunburst (too boring, i dont dislike it though) but sunburst really looks great on this bass!
thanks, I agree, think the black p/guard gives it a moodier look
  21. Hey All So I traded this gorgeous bass a couple of weeks ago but a moment of impulse on ebay means it is being moved on Rare twin pup active version, two octaves w/zero fret. Twin graphite rod reinforced neck. Comes w/Hiscox hard case Great condition (virtually no 'rash) apart from some paintwork scratches top and bottom of body and a dent on the rear of the neck at the 12th fret which the top of your thumb touches should you be up that way. Also a couple of barely perceptible dents on the back of the neck lower down near the 3rd and 5th frets - none of this affects the playability - wickedly fast neck. A couple of v. small bits of chrome have come off the bridge Heres the original link (hope you don't mind Andy, playing your Jazz got me to thinking... ) http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...hl=status+shark Based in Bristol area, prefer collection or will happily meet half way within reason. If you'd rather have it posted we can discuss best Graham
How's about a 44-02? Got a DJ, JO and 44-02. A/Bd 44-94 and 44-02 and had a very hard time justifying the price difference between them. Tone/sound and general fit and finish was so close, confident I'd made the right choice of a 44-02 and saved myself enough for a decent Japanese JB too... Love the JO and the DJ (both Skylines BTW) and both have their place, but ultimately the 44-02 is that bit more versatile and it's the one I'd go for if the house was on fire! Regards Rich Edit! - ultimately, try before you buy (if you can!)
thanks for that. How do the necks compare on 4402 and dj?
  23. interesting, I read this before I bought my CIJ. stand corrected http://www.gear-review.co.uk/reviews/jb62_77/index.html
That's nonsense, there's no difference between MIJ and CIJ. Recent instruments are all marked CIJ, prior to that they were all marked MIJ.
24. to confuse matters further it's worth making the distinction between CIJ - made for the domestic market to a very high standard, and MIJ - made for export and regarded as lesser quality, some are basswood etc. having said that many MIJ's are cracking instruments. it's such an intangible thing: try before you buy innit
It seems the classic vibes are a pretty excellent model for their price - i am loving the neck. lol what exactly do ya mean by skanky? im sorry but...PHWWOOAAR http://www.fender.com/products/prod_images...54505506_xl.jpg I assume MIK is made in korea? never heard of that Is Jazz 24 the only one with 24 fret? EDIT: bloody hell, that looks better than the aerodyne http://img3.musiciansfriend.com/dbase/pics.../1/7/558017.jpg Oh also, the VMJs have duncan designed puppies - do the ones equipped for MIM and MIA differ?
25. Nice one Andy and thanks for the coffee. Hope the amps flapping your trousers nicely
