5.
Bear in mind also that Entwistle had dozens of basses - Jaco had one that recorded all his classic moments and arguably the most ground breaking bass solo album ever - yep, this one, The Bass of Doom Its like saying one of Pete Townsend's countless Les pauls or SG's is worth at least as much as Eric Clapton's Blackie. It ain't. Period
spot on Clarky, I have a book of Entwistles bass collection, goes on forever. Only one BOD innit
 6.
I completely disagree with your view of pricing. The reason being is that Entwistle was a member of The Who, who were massive in their heydays and known globally. Pastorius while a very good jazz bassist and did a lot for the instrument, is practically unknown outside of specific music circles. Part of the value of Entwistles' was due to his fame and popularity, Jaco simply doesn't have that and won't command the same price imo.
and £65 for a happy ending!?!?

 9. Hi all, selling my Stagg EDB 3/4 size electric upright in violinburst. Great starter upright, had the electrics cavity copper lined. Been gigged half a dozen times and convinced me to go for the real thing. Comes with padded gig bag Collection from Bath/Bristol area or could drive up to 40 miles to meet. Pics now up.
 10. Get the Blessing from Bristol , great live
 11.
I'm a big DR Sunbeams fan. In fact I have the same DR strings on my fretted and fretless basses as I love em so much. For me they have a wonderful flexibility and feel for a start. The tone doesn't fade in the way that stainless steels strings seem to. So they treble-fade much slower and so you don't really notice it. For me, months go past and I suddenly think: Oh Gosh I should be changing strings but the tone is lovely that I'm loathed to. I have a Jaco Fender Jazz fretless with an epoxy'd rosewood board - for me this creates the Jaco tone that I love. It is really melodic and sweet. On my Cliff Bordwell fretted ball bass the Sunbeams get the most out of the Audere pre I have on board. The bass, mids and treble EQ all respond tunefully to the string/pickup/pre system I have. I have Nordstrand big singles PUs. Try them out - I would be surprised if you really didn't like them. Davo
thanks for that, reckon I'll give them a whirl!
 12. 'I want you back' by the Jacksons. Groovy with some fiendish arpeggios later on
 13. I can vouch for TI and Labella flats as great singing low tension strings for FL. Been wondering about DR Sunbeams and Lo Riders recently, anyone got an opinion on these or A/B'd them?
 14. Traded basses long distance with Darren, a hassle free and smooth transaction. Recommended
 15. Sounds good, not made one of these yet so it's in the diary! Graham
 16.
Tim Smith of Cardiacs, doubtless genius and it is a true shame that he hasnt got the credit he deserves, one of Englands finest. He is quite ill still after having a heart attack and stroke but on the mend apparently...how on the mend remains to be seen.
yes! the creative force behind the single most underrated British band of the modern era. genius. zappa yes. miles yes
