1. Ditto. Unreal bargain for a six player! Quality instrument
2. Funny, from a proponent of what is for the large part generic cheese. The fretless has a distinct voice, but as mentioned plenty have taken it to different melodic places. Bitter domineering old Jeff needs to look outside his clinic once in a while
3. Hi is this 34" or 35" scale??
4. Thanks for posting. Fascinating story and some great music that slipped the net
5. Very interesting, thanks for sharing. The first album that turned me on to Marcus
6. Dude from Aloe Blacc playing a lovely Sadowsky, sounds like VTC in full effect!
7. Stunning! Would love to hear this played in anger. Good luck with sale
8. Saw them in London years ago and looking fwd to their Green Man set this summer. Great band
9. +1 to Glasper. Also Neil Cowley and Now vs Now
10.
Well i have gone for DR NMR 45 SUNBEAMS in the end cost me £25 on e bay ,most i have ever paid for strings so hope they are worth it!
Mate you wont regret your choice, esp at that price!
11. Elixirs for smooth tone and mwah or DR sunbeams for a bit more bite. Tough call between the two
12. Love this. Don't s'pose a Yamaha TRB Mk1 fretless 5 would interest you?
13.
I went to see Get the Blessing at the lovely St. George's in Bristol last night. They did two sets - the first set was an homage to John Coltrane, the second was mostly taken from their soon to be released new album. I was pretty much completely blown away by Clive Deamer's drumming (better known for his day job in Portishead), even Mrs Rev enjoyed herself and she thinks that Micheal Bubble is 'jazzy'... Get The Blessing
Missed out on that one, gutted. Jim Barr a legend. Hey Rev did you lend me your EUB in the Seven Stars one Sunday when my Stagg went kaput?
14. Crossover is where it gets interesting for me too
15. thought both the new bands were pretty good tonight, liked the kid from Metronomy diggin in on his P
16.
Love a bit of Cymande - and this one has a gorgeous laid back groove.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=
Beautiful summery groove
17.
+1 This bassline taught me many funky things!
Yeah right in the pocket, love it!
18. Don't know what you mean. What's crap is making no contribution to the artist.
19. I pay the tenner already. Not only do you get most of the history of popular music on tap and the community of sharing playlists and discovering new music, be it on a mobile or at home, you can set chosen music to 'offline', so it's always there, no need to stream. An instant IPod, albeit with a tiny tariff, one that at least makes a minor contribution to the artists. No brainer
20.
f***ing MAGNIFICENT.
Makes your hairs stand up eh. Raven on fine form, RIP
21. The format is still valid, it's the programming that sucks. The live scene is in rude health but Laters hit rate is tragically low. Used to love the 'here comes the weekend' vibe of the Tube
22. The What We Must album is fantastic, particularly the opener All I Know is Tonight
23. From a recent online review. Funny as I take pride in my self restraint '…today we hear the riches accrued. Rich baritone, cello driving melody as much as responding to it, sharp-as drums, but it’s the bass that really catches the ear tonight: positively Beatley in doing so much more than it needs to, songs so much the richer as a result'
24. Always loved this one note beauty, insistent and chunky
