1. check this guy in the vids page, very acrobatic and lacking some tone, but impressive, esp towards the end http://www.notreble.com/buzz/2010/08/09/ev...slap-bass-demo/
2. Hi I'll take… Building Walking Bass Lines - Ed Friedland Slap Bass - The Ultimate Guide DVD - Ed Friedland cheers Graham
3. On a Lakkie tip the 5502 takes a lot of beating, a very modern look and sound from either the Barts or the LH3 configs. Depends what kind of vibe you're after
4. Been browsing this site for a while, US-centric but some very cool interviews, vids, q&a etc. Plus if you 'like' the Facebook page then they send you interesting daily tidbits. Well worth a gander
5. Bought a JB62 from Ishibashi a few years ago. Great communication and service
6. Bough a pedal from Ollie. Good communication and arrived promptly as promised. Recommended
7.
Yolanda Charles is a very good bass player as well - don't know much about this band of hers but ought to be pretty good: http://www.myspace.com/yolandacharles
Love Yolanda. What's that she's playing though, is it a Celinder?
8. Another example of superb restraint an feel
9. Fantastich Barrie! Always loVed GSH, was lucky enough to see him about 96. Here's a classic sampled line
10. Collected a Sadowsky from Perry, great guy and bass as described, recommended.
11.
One of the best melodic bass players certainly and patently some who strived to learn and improve. I read a magazine interview with Flea in which he stated that among his many influences, McCartney stood out for his melodic basslines and strongly influenced his thinking on many of the Chilli Peppers slower numbers. Interestingly, in the same article he cited Paul Simenon as another
This figures - surely Give It Away is a direct descendent of Come Together
12. James bought a bass from me. Great communication and very trustworthy, recommended
13. Funkin for Jamaica is my favourite. Makes perfect sense on a real bass too

Colin bought an EUB from me. Drove down as promised and paid upfront. Had a cuppa and a good old bass related chinwag. Great guy to deal with, highly recommended!

19. OK folks up for sale is my Warwick Streamer stage 1 NT 5 string. Flamed maple with Akanga stripes, wenge board, MEC humbuckers and active 3 band eq, made 2004 Fantastic bass, does the lot - classic growl, great Zender through your Fenders to a very hifi Ken Smith like modern sound. Pretty much immaculate, no dings, been waxed regularly, new jack socket 19-20mm spacing at the bridge, but fully adjustable, set up really nicely, neck is wide but not deep and really comfortable to play. Weight is about 9lbs and very comfy on the strap Reason for sale is I got this for a project that never got off the ground, and an incoming Sadowsky Fl means I need to generate cash, so not after trades I’m afraid. I’m into this bass for £1k and Thomann are currently asking £2400, so I’m asking £850 firm, which I think is very reasonable. Comes with newish padded Warwick gig bag, some wax, straplocks and truss tool Anyone is welcome to come and try this beauty out in the Bath/Bristol area. Collection preferred but can post at your expense, or meet within reasonable distance thanks for looking Graham
20. Think I prefer Zenders too. It's tighter, funkier and more focussed. The album version is more lyrical and flowing but lacks the immediacy and punch of the single, bit too much cheba
21. Janeks podcasts or 'basscasts' are very good too. Free on iTunes if you like 'that kind of thing'
22. Thanks for that, really enjoyed it. Nice to see Raven getting some props too
23.
Is this still 4 sale ?
Sold now, thanks for all the enquiries. Donation to BC on the way
Its mine too, but i need to free some cash for a nice 5 string Sandberg. This bass has a really warm, woody, organic sound and so easy to play because of its 34" scale and adjustable string spacing.
sounds tasty, what colour?
