1. I'll carry one on my back as a spare too
2.
Love the tolex on these!
Thank you
3.
Wow, look at those weights! Are you buying an Ampeg 8X10 next?
Too flimsy
4. So i've decided to sell this lovely pair of TKS S112s. Only as they aren't being used and it would be stupid to just leave them doing nothing except gather dust. They've probably been used less than 10 times and as such are immaculate. These have a few upgrades on the standard spec, so i paid £950 for them with the covers, although i'm informed the price has risen since i bought them. They are fantastic sounding cabs, very sensitive, very punchy, very articulate, as i'm sure anyone who has used them will confirm, but you are welcome to bring your own amp and bass and give them a blast at my house. They are extremely lightweight at 10kgs each, and i think they look pretty good too YMMV I'm happy for someone to arrange a courier for them, but it is to be arranged and paid for by you. Saying this i would definitely prefer you try them out before buying. Up to you though. Its [s]£800 [/s] £750. Like i said, that represents a healthy saving on what are effectively brand new cabs. Heres the official spec: Impedance: 8 Ω Power handling (high average power test signal): 250 W RMS Recommended amplifier power: 150-300 W RMS @ 8 Ω Sensitivity[average]: 99 dB SPL @ 1W/1m Sensitivity[100Hz]: 98 dB SPL @ 1W/1m Sensitivity[max]: 103 dB SPL @ 1,5 kHz, 1W/1m Frequency response (-10db): 46 Hz – 4,8 kHz Displacement: 237 cm³ Measurements (WxHxD): 52x38x33 cm Weight: 10 kg And some photos: Thanks for looking
5. Just up the road
6. Im just outside Bridgend mate. Call me Kert
7. Welcome to the forum. Always feel a bit of a tit saying that. Sounds as if i feel it's my forum or something!? Also from South Wales, so when you do start playing again let me know. Kert
8. Nice. If it does the job, it's a winner
9.
There was also a hint of a Barefaced amp lurking in the shadows. I'm very interested in that as well.
Really?!!? I look forward to that
10.
Yes, it was you. Definitely you.
Probably was to be fair
11.
I'll play some fingerstyle stuff and some slap stuff to see if the engineer can get a good level even if there's a big level difference between the two.
Same here.
12. Ive been watching in the shadows waiting to see if someone else was going to say the GB Streamliner. Must agree. Might have been me but i didn't get on with it at all.
13.
Im still sceptical about the gig volume as its quite a bit smaller than my 1212L
Wish i could see your face when you turn it on and crank up your amp If you can, get someone else to play whilst you walk around too. That was the most impressive thing to me
14.
It definitely would!
Ok, i'll try again this weekend. Need to take some good photos of it first, then i'll get to work
15. Yeh i use it with a bass with a P&J pickup config, playing motown/funk/soul and it works great for me. You should do a review when it arrives. I was going to, and got half way through. But i'm terrible at putting what i hear into words. Felt it wouldnt be useful to anyone.
16. No pressure then Hahaha. I'm not concrened. It's brilliant. Will you be running it with the F1? Im guessing you may have to EQ it a little differently to when being paired with your Schroeder. But i think you will be impressed. Are you getting a 4 Ohm cab?
17. Let's get some pictures of both when you have a chance. Might be worth you putting a topic in build diaries?
18. Ok thanks for your responses gents, I get where you are coming from. We have two singers. One uses the SM58 and the other has an AKG. I'll pay attention next time to see who is feeding back in the soundcheck! Haha
19. We do try to make the vocals a priority. Might i ask, what is the issue with the SM58? Im not a singer, so have never had one, but i assumed they were highly thought of?
20.
Thanks for the reply. Do you have PA support?
Nope. Never needed it. I dont know what the technical term for it would be (possibly dispersion?), but when i first got the cab i tested it with a friend playing my bass through my set up. I was amazed how clearly i could hear it, and so equally ( as in it sounded the same at every position in the room to my ears). The volume is not an issue either, but that might be down to the amp used? I use a EBS TD650 and its never gone above 11 oclock on volume and 9 oclock on drive and gain. If you ever come down my way your most welcome to come and have a go.
21. Ive no experience with Peavey but wouldnt 3 band EQ suggest bass/middle/treble ? Are any of the knobs stacked? Or is there a push/pull option with any of them?
22. Not a 6 string man myself, but that looks immense. Love it
23. Yeh don't get me wrong, im sure the differences are blatantly obvious to other muso's. But thats not the majority of who we play to at least
