1. Sold my Barefaced cab to Carl. Great communications throughout. Very accomodationg. A good guy too! Cheers Carl
2. Learnt ghostbusters theme song today ready for our gigs over Halloween. Different!!
3. Send it back. No doubt. Might be nice, but i reckon you could do better for your money
4. If its only for use for on stage monitoring i dont see the need for 2 seperate setups? One 2X10 or 2X12 or even a 112 should be more than sufficient for on stage monitoring?
5. There are some massive bargains to be had in the classifieds if you are willing to "take a risk" on a less well known brand/luthier for sure! Do a bit of research and you will be laughing. Custom builds going for less than £1000 cant be bad
6. We cover alot of Motown songs. We havent got a full brass section, and as such, can't always cover a song exactly the same. People who come to see us have never seemed to be bothered by this. Doesnt matter anyway. As long as the music is there or thereabouts, people only care about hearing the singer . . . . Edit to add
7.
*Awaits backlash from 'song-interpreters' and those who can't be bothered to learn the songs properly* Thhppp! Thpp!!
Could also argue those who are "song purists" havent got the skills to interpret tastefully
8. I will split the song up into its parts. Usually it's Intro, verse, pre chorus, chorus, and a bridge. Sometimes not even that many parts! Then listen, play, re-listen, play and so on until i have it. I don't often worry about getting it exactly the same as the song unless the bassline is the main riff of the song. Put your own slant on it. Aslong as you don't go too far from the original, you're golden
9. I have no doubt of the quality this bass is going to be. Andys' work has been incredible IMO. That being the reason I asked him if he would be interested in this project in the first place
10. Colour me excited
11. I have never checked a truss rod. I guess i may just have been lucky?
12. Sold a bass to Mark. Everything was easy. Money paid straight away. Credit to Basschat. Cheers Mark
13. Back from holiday bump
14. Sorry for delay in response Ive been on holiday. I expected to have wifi, but the hotel must have been using a old potato as its router! I'll reply to PMs now in the order i had them. Thanks
15. Good work people. Would love to participate, but don't have the free time. Sorry i needed the reminder, but happy i got here eventually Made my vote
16. It is great, but just overkill for what i need. I only need something to use as on stage monitoring. So moving this seems sensible to help me pay for a custom build. Its a good cab. I think anyone who has it will be very pleased. Cheers Dave
17. I'm in work right now Tom, i'll weigh it after work for you.
18. It is 4 ohm. Didn't think to include that. Location is South Wales. I didn't include that because it says so under my profile pic. I forgot to take into account some are on the site through tablets, so apologies for that
19. I think its been resprayed. I didn't do it myself though, so i didn't want to say it was after market. I guessed someone would know. Thanks, i thought it looked pretty good too
