1. So i have decided against moving my speakers on, and because of that, i'll move this EBS TD650 on instead. It's a brilliant amp. I would call it professional level equipment. It has the best built in compression i've used. A character button that gives you a scooped sound for slap. A tube mode button which gives that "bounce" that people look for with tubes, and a boost drive which can add some grit to your sound. All three buttons have proved extremely useful! Super clean highs and full lows it is very versatile. Its in immaculate condition as it has always been kept in the case since i've had it. Here are some photos: Sorry for the picture quality, i can take more if requested. There are a few trades i'd consider. Markbass amps, and i may potentially look at the Tecamp Puma heads. I dont need or want any cabs or basses thanks If the right head comes along i would be happy for a cash adjustment either way. Trials always welcome. Courier can be arranged, but i would prefer a pick up so you can try it first. Thanks for looking
2.
Totally disagree with this generalised opinion - it is contrary to my own experiences. I thoroughly recommend you actually try a Streamer in the flesh...then you will know.
I agree with this. I have both, and for me the streamer is way more comfortable. Where it sits and how it plays
3. Nice. Sounds like a bargain. That's a proper meaty looking set up. Bet your back will thank you too!
4. Ah ok. That makes a bit of sense to me. I always assumed people always meant at the nut, and i thought if it was tighter, surely it made the fretting easier/less work? So, if your perfect bass comes up and it has everything you've ever wanted, and your WAL doesn't exist, would a 17mm bridge put you off? Is it enough to cause you to walk away? Or would you try and get used to it?
5. When looking for a bass, the spacing at the nut never really bothered me. So i was wondering, what is it about the spacing that actually bothers you? Is it harder to play if there is less or more space? Or is it just a personal preference thing? When i see people saying that the spacing is 1mm or 2mm too big/small, is an extra 1mm spacing even noticeable??
6. Thanks Gareth. Totally agree.
7. Yes 12s in there Marc. Stupidly light, yet a real quality to the build IMO. More than willing to split if there are two interested parties at the same time. As always, your always welcome over to try it first mate
8. No tweeter. Didnt feel they needed them
9.
Nothing, and I mean *nothing* irritates me more than the 'clap on beats 1 & 3' brigade. Have they no soul?
I feel your pain
10. Brilliant. Just need to get him along to our next gig now and we are sorted
11. Yes, our new policy is to hide it when not in use. Lesson learnt!
12.
I'd better not say any more
And as such, told me all i needed to know
13.
I actually have a customer who prefers to sing without music, and then gets me to put it into time
That is insane. Are they actually in key? Do they stay in time? Or do you have to alter everything in production?
14.
yes I hate it when the audience clap along and I'm trying to play drums. Actually I hate it when our singer tries to clap along and have banned him from doing it
Ive been in a band before where the singer had an awful sense of time. Absolutely brilliant singer, but unless you kind of nodded at him of his cues to come in, he would've had no chance. Makes you think if he actually heard the music or would have just sang the song regardless of whether the music was playing.
15. Yeh the off time clapping hasn't ever been too much of a problem. Tambo is a different story though!
Funny just how many people "think" they can keep time.
The lady in question actually said "im really good on the tambourine so don't worry" I felt like shouting "LIARRRR!!" mid song
16. I play in a acoustic duo, and we often loop a tambourine sample, so there is a beat whilst we are playing. Played a wedding last night (wednesday!?) and a few of the people dancing wanted to get involved. We are all for that, so handed a tambourine out. Little did we realise just how off-putting it would be. It was incredibly hard to keep a steady tempo when the tambourine was being shaken to a rhythm as constant as a broken grandfather clock I wasn't surprised that they were off time, but i was surprised at how hard it was to ignore it, and keep playing as normal. Try it, give a tambo to someone who you know has no rhythm, and try and play a song.
17. Bought a practice amp off Rich. Everything as described. Arrived when he said it would. All went smoothly. Cheers Rich!
18.
What, you mean this ? Pretty damn good so far, have a bump!
Never been a fan of Ricks, but that looks f*£$ing amazing!!
19. If there were two people interested in me splitting them i would. Otherwise, i just think it makes sense to sell them as a pair
20. Warwick streamer stage 1. Would have to get it second hand to be within your budget. But they do everything. IMO anyway
21. Thanks Karl If I had seen the bass I'm after a couple days earlier they would have been yours too!! How's the Rick working out for you?
22. Ah fair enough, i didnt realise you were that close! Well all the options you have in mind seem to have excellent reviews, so whatever you opt for, im sure youll be very happy
23.
Bumping this thread instead of starting a new one: Is anyone else using the Purple Chili 112's? I'm looking to upgrade my rig to 2x112 cabs (well I'll buy one then wait a few months & buy the other) and partly prompted by CamdenRob's for sale thread Purple Chili have made it on to the list. At the moment it's a three-way between the PC 112's, the TKS S112's and the Barefaced Super Compact's - I can get to both Twyford & Brighton quite easily for trials but it's a 100 mile drive to the other side of London for PC so I'd be really interested to hear what current users think. I do generally prefer the looks of the PC and the fact he uses recessed solid handles over those external strappy ones but it's a lot of money to be spending blind (or deaf I guess) having never heard one! Any help would be appreciated...
If you are down South Wales, you are welcome to try out my S112s. No obligation of course. You have to bring the biscuits though
24.
That man cave - very jealous! Are you squatting 100? Very cool looking cabs - glws.
Love my gym. Very therapeutic. Bass and weights in one place of harmony The weights on the bar were from a shoulder complex. Think its only 80 on there. Thanks!!
That vynil!! I wanted that finish but bottled it and went plain black, same grille cloth though. They look incredible!
Thank you
