1. Looks great. Another super skilled BCer. Be great to get a sound sample of you get the chance
2. Just to say, i don't vote for myself. But as has been said, i'd be fine if someone wanted to. My friend wouldn't be interested joining the forum. Hes the guitarist in my band, so we wouldn't want him to join anyway
3. Just a thought, but does anyone vote for themselves? I have just shown my friend all the noodles, and asked his opinion on the 3 he'd vote for. One of the ones he picked as his favorites was mine (probably because i was standing right by him), but i explained i couldn't vote for my own. Then i realised that isn't really a general rule, just my own rule really. Some quality offerings again gents, i'm going to have a listen to them all again later with headphones on to pick my favorite three
4. Well done all. Some great tracks this month
5. Bass Gear was a brilliant place to visit. Get yourself in there
6. Congratulations to the Barefaced team!! Huge score for them. Bet that rig sounds a bit meaty too
7.
I came here looking to vote - after all it is my constitutional right
Does this mean we should start lobbying for your vote??
8.
True, but start slowly and build up speed. There isn't much syncopation in Bach's music so makes an easier read to start with.
That's a fair point. It's pretty straight, and trying to learn it certainly wont do your playing any harm
9.
And conversely, I'm amazed that it's a characteristic that passes so many people by. We're all different.
Of course, otherwise we'd all be lugging round SVT 2's right?
10. Gutted i missed this!!!
11.
I would love to do some blind sound tests with some of you guys!! Some of you appear to have a truly remarkable sense of sound.
These echo my thoughts.
12.
Find the charts for Bach's Cello suites.
I agree it's a good piece to learn, could be a bit tasty for a beginner though
13.
That is a massive price range and you can probably buy most things you want 2nd hand. Define what you want and start there (look at new values of £1000-£1800 as indicators). I sold my Korean Pro Series for £350 recently - which I think was quite a result considering the Germans go for about that.
Yeh, i'd say you did well there! Schnozalee - i often see custom builds in the for sale section, that probably cost a few thousand to build, but because they aren't known brands they end up being sold on for dirt cheap. If i could get to try them before buying them, i'd be looking here. Some real bargains to be had Something like http://basschat.co.uk/topic/285621-fs-patrick-eggle-5-string-one-off-gorgeous/ or http://basschat.co.uk/topic/285888-fsft-jim-fleeting-custom/ There are plenty of bargains in there. Just to note, i have nothing to do with the 2 basses i have mentioned
14. Warwicks aren't popular at the minute. Some of the prices i've seen some German made ones go for are ridiculous.
15. We had a budget when we were looking to buy, and asked for advice from a sound engineer friend. He recommended these to us, as tops, as a good buy for the price. He had used them like this before and was impressed. Must say, they have been excellent for us.

17. £200 - £250 is the standard pub gig rate down South Wales area. Some places will try to pay less. Usually those gigs go to acoustic duos. We are lucky to be able to charge a little more as we are a 6 piece and don't often play pubs (maybe 10 a year), but £300 is pretty much tops. Standard set will be 2 X 1 hours
18. Just bought a looper pedal off Vic. Smooth transaction. Excellent communication. No problems at all. Cheers Vic
19. Ah well, i went over time by 2 seconds. We are both rebels this month
20. Play about 4 or 5 times a month. Not particularly sweaty either. Cheers for that, i think ill give them a go
21. Anyone have experience on how long they last before needing replacing? Wouldnt mind giving them a go
22. Nice. Again, love the tone. But i love the walking bassline resolves back to your main kind of phrase. Good stuff. Very cool
23. That Epifani amp looks awesome! Havent seen one of them before
24.
with high gain on the valve pre.
Contender for under statement of the year?? Cool noodle, loving all the different tones again this month
