I don’t know if it’s been discussed in these 4 pages…but I wonder if the ‘project’ Rob mentions is an overseas franchising of the brand?! Would need to be quality, but why not keep some money coming in by licensing out what you’ve spent so long building up. Si

Not heard of that dealer before! Shall keep an eye on the site! Si

I’m exactly the same! What’s a given sig bass based on? I want that haha Si

This is so funny. So many responses here which are essentially “I don’t like a band which proves NO-ONE else has heard of them”. I’m not even young anymore (40 next year because you care), but I at least understand that my tastes do not dictate what is popular 😂. Come on, y’all are better than this surely? I’ll state it again just for those at the back. Vulfpeck have 1.3million different people listening to their songs on a monthly basis, JUST on Spotify, ignoring all other platforms. No that’s not as much as Peter Gabriel, who’s probably been around for, what? 40 years longer probably?! But it is half a million more people than King Crimson. So it’s official that KC are no longer ‘legendary’. Si

They also have a massive listener-base, regardless of what people think of streaming in general (separate conversation), even just on Spotify they have 1.3 million monthly listeners. 1.3 million (more actually) individuals around the world listen to him play bass every month. Again, like them or not, THAT is what will get you a signature bass. He's also pretty bloody good at big guitar. And Jack is a very clever business mind, again, like him or not (you don't know him remember). Quite frankly, I think they're doing what they need to have a career in music VERY well. Si

Oh totally, fully understand that, especially with Markbass stuff , as I mentioned, it all sounds great to my ears so I'm happy for now. With regards to power-amp only setup, it wasn't that I didn't like the tone I was getting (Noble pre straight to power amp), it was that the GR amp has a particularly loud fan which I wasn't enjoying live. So a functional issue rather than tonal one. Si
-
Bit of both, it's on my board last in the chain so it goes into my amp, if PA support is required, it runs into the PA as well. I basically run my LM2 head flat at all times, the 'vintage' guff completely off etc. I wanted to go down the route of just a power-amp, tried the GR Pureamp 800 for that, but that wasn't up to standard (IMO), would love to try out the Trickfish Bullhead Mini, which isn't just a power amp of course, but super clean/transparent by all accounts. Perhaps when life costs settle down a bit, luckily everything sounds great at the mo. Si

I gigged my Midwestern at the weekend (mine is with the B90 though) and it's just a wonderful feeling and sounding bass. It always get's compliments for the sound! You can hear it on this track should you be interested: Oh and here's mine: Si

You won’t be disappointed!! Si

Get on the FL’s for that price! Best flats in all the land! Si

Just for the benefit of the OP who might not necessarily be getting the jokes, the correct answer is indeed Backing Vocals Si
-
I guess it might have something to do with the digital power section on the LM3, where the LM2 was analogue. Si
-
I feel like the guitarist probably should realise if the OP has been consistently asking them to help the band be good haha. Similarly, the singer sounds like she's equally not fussed. If there was a connection with the original drummer who has bailed because of the others.....follow that. Si
-
I think you've hit the nail on the head here. Two different types of musicians, those who have fun by being in good bands, and those who have fun by being in bands who aren't fussed about being good. Both are legitimate....if you like.......just gotta choose your lane. Si
-
I'd just bail and see if the previous drummer wanted to do something, find some musicians who do want to take it seriously. Si

Which of us is comparing a festival set mix to a bespoke artist-led production mix? 😇 That minor detail aside, we're comparing the difference between a (albeit passive) Stringray and a Jazz, they sound different, simple as that. The festival set, the bass is present and supportive (tonally) throughout the whole gig, job done, how it compares subjectively to a Stringray is kinda a moot point.....unless you wanna get all Talkbass about it. Si
-
Sounds great! Si
-
Were the pickups too high perhaps? Lower those pickups and get them away from the strings to tame it a bit I reckon. Si
-
Yeah, if in doubt, stay away. Si
-
Looks like they sold, did you get them? Si

Very cool, all the basses sound amazing, love me some La Bella flats on Precisions. Completely understand him wanting to keep the last Lakland untouched, it means a lot to him to keep the last instrument his dad touched as it was for as long as possible. Si

Very cool! Would love one with that spec! Si
