1.
Oh man, this is great. I wish pwnzors were still up for sale..
http://basschat.co.uk/topic/208213-fsft-3-leaf-pwnzor-bass-compressor/ Si
2. No problem. Funnily enough, as I posted that last reply, Ryan @ Fuzzrocious tweeted about active basses and effects, to the tune of "sell it and buy a passive" haha. I run everything totally passive, but then there are plenty of excellent 'effects' players who play active, Justin Chancellor & Janek Gwizdala being a prime example (Wal were 9v pre's). I've not tried the ARC, but being based on the old Tall Fonts is a Silicons (more compressed), with a diode lift option (probably more gainy). The Stache, being based on the later Muff, with the Germs will sound a bit quieter, warmer ('vintage'). I tend to run my Stache in the assymetric LEDs setting (I have LEDs, Germs, Assymetric LEDs), which is massive! But then I run my Rat Tail with LEDs too, so I must just like them Juan Alderete did a great Fuzz Wars series on his website which outlined how each Fuzz is very different, some benfit from a hard touch, others blossom nicer with a soft touch. Obviously a higher output bass will make a soft touch harder as the signal is already pumping out. As Ryan said above, perhaps turn your bass down and your amp up Si
3. From the Fuzzrocious website FAQ: "They work w/ active instruments, too...you may need to turn your volume down, just as you would do with 99% of all other effects w/ actives" However, I imagine that this is all personal preference. I've heard that a LOT of fuzz pedals don't like active instruments for the reasons you mention above. But if you don't try, you don't know Si
4. The HF-2, MD-2 or the Diago, or any combinations thereof (preferably with minimal renumberation from me) Si
5. Bump Si
6. Thanks for the info Phil, just read up a lot on RIAA EQ. I've had an idea and will report back Si
7. Hmmm, I suppose I need to test out with a desk before I buy. Unsure Cheers so far Si
8. Hi guys, I'm looking to run my bass and iPod through my bass amp when learning tunes, I'm figuring that a small cheap desk would be best for this (Behringer probably), as it's only for home use. The Secondary use for whatever I go for would be to run my record player (vinyl) through my bass amp (lets not go into the 'audiophile' issues here ), the record player simply has stereo RCA out. So.......can I? I notice the desk (Behringer EuroRack MX602A) has stereo RCA in, but the main outs are L/R, whereas obviously any cable and input into an amp would be mono. I'm guessing the headphone out would also be stereo, so would I still lose a side when going to the amp? Best solution here? Cheers Si
9. Just mod the Muff Diver with some mids http://www.muzique.com/lab/tone3.htm Si
10. Bump, anyone got a Boss PQ-3B for trades?! Si
11. Lot of MXR love here Si
12. I'm using the MXR M82 and loving it. If you end up using a Soundblox BEF & Hot Hand, i'm selling one Check out the 3Leaf stuff, the Aguilar Filter, all good stuff Cheers Si
13. Are you looking for any trades/ part ex' at all? Cheers Si
14. Hey bud, Line6 were actually really good to deal with, basic ticketing system for repairs, sent it back and it took about 5 days for them to turn it around. Si
15. Bump for Line 6 DL-4 & Source Audio additions Cheers Si
16. Great Phaser Si
17. Still figuring out what trades I can get away with Si
18. Currently messing about with the following, just playing with some sounds for a project really, all changeable as usual Yes there's loads more power than necessary, but it's so I can add in stuff for experimenting off-board and just power whatever. Si
19. Yeah, the delay in the effect is the 'Lag' control, you can have it at 7 o'clock (off) and it would sit on top of the note Here's the demo: https://soundcloud.com/simonpoulton Si
20. The Organizer definitly isn't a Ring Mod, although I remember a Youtube video where the guy is using a bit-crusher type effect with one. The LAL looks nice, but that looks like a reverb pedal essentially, the Organizer is a pitch pedal, with variants of either 1 down, 2 down, 1 up & 2 up. What's nice is that it has a 'Lag' function which delays the application of the effect on your signal. Si
21. Yeah I'm definitly culling at the moment, a couple of things coming in, but much less 'buying for the sake of it' ..............apart from OC-2s lol, although I've not bought one for a good 4 months now . I'm looking foward to getting hold of the Mr Black Eterna, great sounding 'verb, should sound mad with the Organizer! Si
22. I'll do some asap and send you the link Si
23. How heavy is it? Si
24. I love the Organizer, I usually just use it for soundscapes etc, had no use for it in a conventional band situation really. Great for looping etc. There's a blend on it, but because i'm only really using it for high volume swells etc, I'm not too fussed about it's low-end retention Si
25.
They actually work well as a partnership, my 3Leaf Wonderlove needed a repair and, rather than send to America i was able to send to Finland for repair instead
That's a great way of working for them both Si
