  1. Guage isn't a great help with tension, it's more to do with core size. Go have a chat with Newtone Strings, tell them what guages you like, and what tuning you want to achieve and they'll make you a set. I used high tension sets exclusively for a few years as I wanted to retain my 45-105 guages in Drop C Standard, obviously the downside is that you can't tune up to E standard. Si
  2. I know its listed as a preamp, but it's as much a preamp as the Grey Stache is, it's essentially just an (awesome) overdrive with a versatile tone control. But regardless, can go wherever you think sounds best in the chain Si
  3. Awesome GS! I always preferred my BDPG into the GS, but whatever works! Si
  4. Haha, true . Let me know if the member holding it changes their mind......just in case Si
  5. Phew! Was getting worried for my bank account there! Lol Si
  6. Awesome pedals!! Get some bass orientated Rat love in your life! Si
  7. *counting* :-P Si
  8. If you're used to an 8x10, it seems that the Super 15 (or two compacts presumably) will give you what you want. Ant on here went from a SVT810 to a Super 15 and hasn't looked back Si
  9. Very cool filter, use mine a LOT and it always sounds cool! Si
  10. I'd say you made a good £40+ on that! Great EQ pedal, love mine! Si
  11. Come at me with your trades and/or cash Si
  12. A fair point, food for thought, thanks Si
  13. Gotcha, I'll do some research into flexible tickets (never heard of them ) So you went in May? The website said the Bass/Nature this year was April?! Si
  14. Cool, I'll take a look I had an email back from the admin team who also state that the dates don't get announced until around Jan 2014, which is a bit disappointing, I imagine flights will have soured (no pun intended) in price by then, so we'll see. I think it's something that I'll do, would just prefer to book in sooner rather than later haha. Si
  15. Are you going again? I've emailed them about dates Si
  16. I guess that's the issue huh, if you take a Flightcase, less likely to get handluggage, if you take a soft case for handluggage, will get destroyed if it goes in the hold. Hmmm Si
  17. Fair point. Who did you fly with? Did you have the bass as hand luggage? Cheers Si
  18. Monday bump Si
  19. Did you take a bass with you? or find something over there? Si
  20. I've just seen this thread, and whilst I've been aware of his course, I've never thought of attending it. Am now seriously thinking of booking for 2014 and going over on my own Si
  21. Oh and Balcro, you need to to go get yourself a Fuzzrocious BDPG Check out www.fuzzrociouspedals.com Si
  22. I didn't get to have a go on Jack's Status OR Clarky's old fretless P :_( Next time Si
  23. Some units/effects won't be optimised for low-end if its a guitar specific pedal. Some though, like the Line 6 M series, have a pretty decent EQ capabilities, so work on either. It's whatever sounds good to you! Si
  24. I had a great time, thanks for having me waffle on about effects for a bit . I do enjoy it a lot, so hopefully people take something from it. Was a well organised event in a cool venue, shame I couldn't stay to chat more and see Laurence, but had to rush over to Winchester to play. Cheers Si
