1.
Fagin's in Taffs Well
Ah. I played in a cramped pub on Saturday night in Pontypool and clunked my Stingray...
  2. Here's the last photo I took of mine. But now the B3 runs in Loop A and my PolyTune is back.
  3.
Went to a pub not far from me to see a band last night. Very good they were too. I went to check out the venue more than anything else as we'll be out gigging soon. Don't know whether this is typical but they were 'shoe horned' in one corner, must have been no bigger than 10' by 10'. The guitarist literally had to move to avoid crashing into peeps as they got up to dance. At one point I noticed the bass player 'twang' his nice Stingray against the wall which quite understandably made him wince!
What pub was that?
  4. They're a great band. Don't take themselves too seriously either:

well done 'exceptional bassist'! Sometimes you could have 20 fingers and it's the effects-laiden guitarist who gets the plaudits. ha.... I remember the guitarist in my band doing "Eruption" and his effects were playing up. result: Dry signal made him sound like George Formby getting angry with his banjo. Loved it!
Fortunately there were other lights so fluff was subdued.. I was kind of surprised by the compliment. I guess he's used to old punk root note plonkers.

Used the B3 last night. Nice to be able to choose lots of different effects pretty much instantly. I'd set up a few patches over the last couple of days, last night I decided to use an auto wah patch to liven up a simple bass line. Worked a treat. I did get a few comments as I had more pedals than our guitarist and the other two bands put together...
  7. Opened for GBH and The Vile last night. Took all our gear (see Bad Amp Share thread) and walked through the door to see they had brought all their own stuff. Then I spotted the GBH bassist was using a tiny Marshall combo that was being pushed to the max and sounded awful. So I was glad I'd taken my old rig (old Peavey head and Laney 4x10). We played our 35 minute set in 25 mins, thanks to the drummer going into gig speed mode! But we had to do a couple of encores, which was a surprise, so we played couple of songs we haven't rehearsed for about 3 months. They went well, the sound guy signalled we'd come to the end of our slot and people were still shouting for more. As I was packing up a guy from the crowd came and had a chat, said we were pretty awesome and he liked my beard . The drummer from GBH actually watched us, the rest of them and The Vile hid upstairs until they played, he also really liked us and told me I was "an exceptional bassist"... I think I replied with "erm... ok... er ta." The Vile were actually pretty good and GBH played a blinder of a set. We talked to a few punk promoters and members of other local, and not so local, bands... All in all a top night!! Oh, and the green DR strings glowed nicely under the UV light that was on and they drew a few comments...
  8.
This is the only deliberately damaged bass I like:
Is that not the one that was made from an old school desk? So it hasn't really been deliberately damaged...
I had the same problem, so ordered a Zoom expression pedal from Thomann. Another annoyance is that there's only one socket so you can connect either an expression or tap tempo pedal but not both. Might see if I can build a mini tap tempo pedal with expression thru jack and extra footswitch to change modes.
Thought that night be the case. Interesting idea too, will be interested to see if that works...
have a look in the total settings (the one for each individual patch), you can rescale the XP pedal travel there
As far as I can tell that just sets the maximum effect level. e.g. Don't open/close a filter fully, but stop at say 75%. So you have 5mm before hitting the 75% limit. Not read the maximum exp. input value as maximum effect level. If you get what I mean...

I got a Moog EP-2 expression pedal today. Unless you can rescale things you get about 5mm of travel before hitting the max...
  12. Last saw them back in the early 90s. My favourite era was the Moose Harris years.

Mine finally got delivered this morning! Shall look forward to playing about with it this evening.
  14.
I used to play this a fair bit and is nice to play, my only problem was remembering it all as I would be ok until roughly just after the drums come in.
Same here. I still play the part before the drums to check out Wahs and distortion pedals...

  16. From 2:10 to where it all kicks back in again in this gives me goose pimples every single time I hear it: Ignore the cheesy WoW video... ta...
  17. I thought I had the cutting out issue, but it turned out that the cab wasn't 4 Ohm, like I was told, but lower. Works fine with a few other cabs I've used.

That's great customer service Richard. A nice and generous gesture. I'm not really after any money back, I'm just impatient.

I ordered from them Sunday as well and still no sign
I've gotten so used to being emailed at every stage of the ordering process (order confrimation, order processed, Order dispatched etc...) that when I don't get it I think something is wrong...
Me to! I was expecting it today. Gutted it hasn't arrived.
So was I. I was hoping to use it at rehearsal tonight... It's being delivered to work, I don't work Thursdays... I'd rather pay for swifter delivery than have slow free delivery...
