1. I just can't stand him. Better'll watch some Pino vids then...
2. Ah, Machines, that wasn't actually 'dedicated' to you exactly, anyway, didn't wanna act rude with that, so I'll get I my coat, if you dont mind..
3. PTFTIES... Know what I mean? For sure, Put The F*ckin' Thread Into Effects Section.. Thanks, Faith.
4. Goddamnit, it was just a tiny thread about Troohilah'z basses, and, what do we have now... Ok, let it be then, Cheers, Faith.
5.
I have many times man, I've been a die hard Metallica for 7 years at least, IMO Jason did it justice on S&M, whereas previously mentioned, his tone is barely audible on RTL sometimes, and trying make out what he's actually playing through all of his distortion is quite a task, and TCOK is exactly a favourite of mine so it's gets a listen every now and again. Testament were also lucky to have Steve Digiorgio record 2 albums with them as well.
Did I misunderstand somethin'? RTL- Ride The Lightning? Dude, it's was 1984, Cliff's, not Jason's era...
6.
Did someone not post earlier that he sounds the same no matter what bass he is using?
Yup, that's my words, mate...
7. +1, Josh...
8. Took a quick look on MetOnTour.com, and bah, Truheeo started using white Fenderous P live (bleurgh) He dissappointed me after all.... It even looks crap on him!
9.
More Pino - what tone ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTWt_pKiMl4
I like those guitars with invisible leads...
10. Sorry to interrupt, but, goddamnit, is this a section for such specific questions as amps?
11. As my friend's tutor once said: there are people (kind of, errr, musicians???), who concentrate on just about everything like physics (related to music), aesthetics or any other kinda sh1t, but, NOT only on music in the 1st place.. If it's any good, it's for you to judge.. and headstock... Don't be ridiculous. Errr, was it just me? [Coat > running > Locked door...]
12. Don't know what was that insult about, but bass looks a bit like *BLEURGH* for me.. Sorry, have a nice play anyway Merry Xmas.
13. My first bass was 4er, of course, but then, when choosing better instrument, my tutor advised going on 5er, and, also, Steve Bailey's "5-string school" desperately 'asked' to be 'started'.. Though, at first, I didn't incorporate low B into playing, but, that's because of not enough dedication then, I think. But, now, I dunno what'd I do without at least 5er - it feels so natural, and, to add more, my guitarist has 7-string axe, so, minimum 5 strings are required from me.. So, take 5er all the way. It's just dedication question about applying it. Muting isn't also a problem.
14. C'mon, guys, gimme some more, I'll be able to apply in 5 places..
15. My long-waited gig in local capital's pub on Thursday... We actually had to play 2x45, but we've actually done 2x30~ because we've turned up a bit late and audience was small anyway (Thursday's result..), but money remained the same. I've used my new Ashdown amp (MAG II 600w Head+ 4x10 Cab) for the first time publicly. In studio it was loud enough, but I couldn't hear myself clearly onstage, though I've even asked to bring 'some more' bass to my monitor. I wasn't pleased with sound, and I think, it was the first and the last time, when I've DI'ed 'myself'. That's cuz last night, when recording in studio, we've compared DI'ed and Mic'ed sound - latter was sooo much massive and clear. All in all, it wasn't bad gig, though, my crew was a bit sad about the audience. Gotta few pics from gig. Here goes Faith! 16. yeah, try it first.. And, buying backup-one as much similar, as the main one is good decision, I've done this also, and there's sooo little feel difference between my Ibbies..
17. OMG, and I'm too tired to read, and TRY to understand all this just now.. Anyway, thanks, Faith
18. As someone before mention SR505 is a wonderful thing for money, but it doesn't meet all your demands about similarity.. Not sure about spacing (what's your Warwick's spacing?), but neck will differ, of course...
19. So, I've noticed that when I'm standing with my guitar just in front of my Ashdown MAG (600head + 410 cab) amp, it starts to hiss.. When I go to side, whether left or right, hiss dissapears.. Not to forget, hiss-power depends on amount of Treble used.. I've tried to check this with both basses (active Ibbies) - problem remains the same.. I've also tried to shut down lights and stuff in studio, but it didn't help. It might sound stupid, but, why it happens (hiss 'comes in') only then, when I'm standing actually in front of my amp (with guitar, of course)..? Why I'm asking is... On Thursday this 'brand new' Ashdown amp will 'perform' in his first gig live, so there's a possibility, that I'll have to stand just in front of my amp.. You got it. P.S. about my stuff - cables are just good enough not to cause the problem, FX processor is also *high-end* stuff, and I ain't using any drive or somethin' else from it, that could actually cause the hiss..
20. Sorry, but shouldn't this be in Miscellaneous Equipment and Accessories section? Just tell me No, and I'll just get my coat then.
21. Well, those fills didn't impress me either (they didn't fit the song).. Oh, it's just me once again..
22. I've downloaded 'em both (studio n live) and listened yesterday, while studying, but that wasn't accurate.. Though, it seemed interesting stuff. Cheers for that one, Faith.
23.
Drifted to bass as I wanted to be back in a musical situation but had no desire to pick six strings up again.
Ahhhhh, so you got something against ERB's? Sorry, that's just my wicked sense of humour.. Could I get my coat now?
24. So, this year I'm high-school graduate, and, I'm not sure, where to go next.. I'm seriously thinking about bass-involved music studies. We don't have any serious colleges/universities here in Lithuania, so, I hope that somebody here could recommend me some good bass-related music studies in UK universities/colleges.. I have graduated 8-year music school, my English isn't very bad (or is it?.. ), though I haven't live abroad for long before, but, I think I'd cope with it, if needed.. Sorry to be abstract this time, I do simply need your recommendations. It doesn't need to be the greatest uni/college in UK, simply, all variants with decent tutors, programme, accomodation etc. are welcome, Cheers, fellas Faith..
25. Why then?
